Monday Happy List

Sunday Happy Things {Week 440}

Mummy & Me embroidery hoop for Mother's Day

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while although now I’m moved it to Sunday. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to sit down and write.

Sunday Happy Things {Week 440}

Last week I finished reading The Housekeepers by Alex Hay. I wrote a review of it here and it’s book 6 of my Goodreads 2023 Reading Challenge. I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters and the plot. I was kept guessing right until the end if the heist would get pulled off, and I thought it was a great page turner.

We finished watching The Last Of Us, a post-apocalyptic series set in America. To be honest it wasn’t my favourite show but it did have Pedro Pascal who is very easy to watch. We also watched the film Triangle of Sadness which came out last year. This was the complete opposite of The Last Of Us. The film features Carl and Yaya, a couple of influencers, who are invited to a luxury cruise ship alongside a group of out of touch wealthy people. The situation takes an unexpected turn when a brutal storm hits the ship. It was funny and horrifying and worth watching.

Last week felt busy as my son had two days of no school thanks to the teachers strikes. It feels like he’s missed so many days of school due to the strikes and I really hope they get resolved soon. It was also his birthday and he had a fun time go karting with a bunch of friends in Watford.

My daughter celebrated Red Nose Day on Friday by dressing up in red. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money so I stitched red circles onto her jeans which she was happy to wear. I carefully unpicked them when she got home!

Last year I bought a cute embroidery hoop kit from Stitch With Skye and I managed to stitch it. The design is called Mummy & Me, and  features a Mother and Child with floral blooms in a 6” embroidery hoop. I thought it was perfect for Mothering Sunday and I enjoyed stitching it.

Have a great week!

    The embroidery is lovely and perfect for Mothers Day. I seem to have totally missed all the run up to red nose day this year some how

    I’ve still not watched any of the last of us, and I’m not sure if it’s going to be for me, but I’ve heard such good things about it. The embroidery hoop is lovely x

    I have set reminders for me to watch The Last Of Us, but somehow, my days just get so hectic I always miss out on watching good shows. I will try this weekend. The book you read too sounds interesting. I will look for a copy of that.
