Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to sit down and write. I’m mixing things up a little by posting on Sunday instead of Monday!
Sunday Happy Things {Week 427}
Last week was a little crazy. The weather was super cold all week, staying below freezing every day. My kids had a lot of extra activities to celebrate the end of term, with Christmas show for my youngest and a Christmas concert for my son. It was actually the first time we had been to a school event at my son’s school thanks to Covid. Both did really well and it was lovely to see them performing and having fun. with their friends.
We went for a lovely walk around our local Lido as it had frozen over. It’s a really pretty spot, especially with a dusting of snow. The kids were happy to be outside in the fresh air and the dog loved playing in the snow too.
I’ve had a few hours to spend on my little Christmas mini quilt. Last week I managed to cut and stitch the quilt top and I’ve been hand quilting the layers. I always find this bit the most time consuming but it’s fun too. We’re watching the latest season of Manifest and it’s a great way to spend an evening.
Yesterday we visited our local Farmers Market and stocked up on a few treats and last minute gifts. It was really busy but lovely to do some al fresco shopping.
I finished reading Yours Cheerfully by A J Pearce which was really easy to read. I don’t think I’ll be reaching my goal of reading 48 books as I’ve only read 31 – I was a bit too ambitious at the start of the year! It’s always fun to challenge myself though I will try to be a little more realistic next year.
