Monday Happy List

Sunday Happy Things {Week 426}

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to sit down and write. I’m mixing things up a little by posting this weekly post on Sunday instead of Monday!

Sunday Happy Things {Week 426}

Last week I mentioned that both my children had taken exams. I’m so pleased that my son passed his Grade 2 Clarinet exam and my daughter passed her karate grading! They both work hard at their hobbies and it’s lovely to see them progress.

We really started getting ready for Christmas last week. I haven’t done nearly enough present shopping and the postal strikes have left me feeling really panicked. Things I have ordered are taking such a long time to arrive that I’ve given up ordering online. I made sure to post our Christmas cards but won’t be sending anything else via the post.

My daughter and I have been crafting a lot this week. We made some fun cards for her friends using corks and paints. We decorated cardboard tube trees and made some delicious gingerbread stars.

Have you put your Christmas tree up yet? We decorated our house yesterday, using a tree my mum gave us. The lights are already attached so it was really quick to decorate. Our little pup is intrigued by the tree and keeps popping up underneath it!

My son sprained his wrist when he went ice skating with his friends so we spent yesterday at the Urgent Care service at our local hospital. Unfortunately the sprain was in the same place he broke his wrist so he was given a splint and told to ice his wrist regularly.

    I decorated my tree the other week as well. Mine is in the garden as it’s a living one, so it never comes inside. I always use weather suitable decorations, and this year I bought a new ceramic carrot that went into the tree. 🙂
