Monday Happy List

Sunday Happy Things {Week 420}

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to sit down and write. I’m mixing things up a little by posting this weekly post on Sunday instead of Monday!

Sunday Happy Things {Week 420}

We had a great week away in Wales during half term. The weather was really good for October and it mainly rained overnight which left us with beautiful blue skies. We spent our days exploring some gorgeous beaches which the kids loved playing on. We also visited Carmarthen and found the most amazing doggy cafe where we all enjoyed milkshakes (except our dog!).

My favourite place we visited was Tenby with its four stunning beaches. It was an amazing place to explore, full of history and beautiful beaches and even a small island only accessible at low tide. My daughter found crabs on the beach and it was warm enough for ice cream! I hope we can all go back one day.

My son went hill walking in Snowdonia with Scouts. They had two days walking and a morning climbing. He was very tired but happy when we picked him up.

I finished reading An Offer from a Gentleman by Julia Quinn, a Bridgerton story. I actually thought it was the worst book I’d read in the series as Benedict, the main character, was a complete misogynist. It was originally published in 2001 but I’m not sure that excuses the author from writing such an awful character.

Although I took a huge bag of sewing I didn’t feel like doing any when I was away. I had bought a gorgeous pumpkin blooms pattern from Little Stitchy Bee that I fully intended to stitch in the evenings. However, when we had the log burner on I just didn’t feel like making anything. So all the projects I had packed came back with me unfinished.

    It sounds like you had a lovely week away, even if you did not get to finish your sewing project. Wales is somewhere I would love to explore at some stage
