Monday Happy List

Summer Holidays edit {Week 359}

Summer Reading Challenge

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List  is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.

Summer Holidays edit {Week 359}

The fifth week of our summer holidays has flown by (again). The kids spent the week at forest school and had so much fun – going on treasure hunts, building dens, exploring the woods, identifying insects and exploring the natural world all around them.

It was quiet with my children so busy during the day but it gave me a chance to learn all about loom frame weaving via an online course. I really enjoyed the opportunity to try something new and produced a fun piece of textile art which is currently hanging in the living room. I have a generous discount code if you fancy trying it for yourself.

At the weekend we visited our local Pick Your Own farm. There was still plenty of delicious fruit and vegetables and we enjoyed picking spinach, sweetcorn, runner beans and raspberries. I thought we had picked loads but we didn’t actually meet the threshold of the tickets we bought!

My daughter loves taking part in our local library’s Summer Reading Challenge. She takes part every year and enjoys the challenge. This week she received her certificate which she can’t wait to take to school to show her new teacher next week.

I had plenty of time to complete the first part of a level 2 certificate in the principles of business administration. I’m hoping it will help improve my job prospects. It’s an interesting course and online which means it fits around my family commitments.

Have a great week!

    The kids forest school sounds really good, a good excuse for them to be outside and in nature. The summer holidays feel like they have gone by so quickly x

    Love the look of your visit to the pick-your-own farm. I’m hoping to get out and pick some blackberries locally this week.

    Loom frame weaving looks fantastic, I bet it’s very calming. We’ve enjoyed some pick your own places this holiday too. I hope you have a great September.
