Summer holiday fun

personalised iPad coverA couple of days before we left for a holiday I received a personalised case for my iPad mini from Photobox. I had designed the case myself and chose a collage of my favourite images of the children. I loved the case but must admit it left my iPad mini a little battered over our holiday. The shell clipped on the back which left the front vulnerable to getting scratched and as it’s mainly used by the children it didn’t give it much protection. Note to self- must invest in a screen protector!

We also made an 8×6 photo block which has pride of place in our house. We don’t have any recent photos of us up so this is a lovely addition to our home. Both items were incredibly easy to make via the Photobox website and arrived quickly. The quality is great and I may be tempted to go back and order some more personalised items for Christmas presents!

Little Sis was very pleased to pack a copy of The Paper Dolls by Julia Donaldson and Rebecca Cobb. It’s a lovely story and the related craft activities are endless! To celebrate the launch, Pan Macmillan are attempting to break the world record for the world’s longest ever chain of paper dolls! For every doll submitted they will donate 10p to support Save the Children’s ‘Enough Food for Everyone IF . . . ‘ campaign, which highlights a global literacy crisis caused by poor nutrition.

The chain of dolls needs to be a whopping 3kms long – which is the length of 270 London buses – so we were happy to contribute by colouring in some sheets.

The deadline is August 28th so if you’re interested take a look at www.paperdollsworldrecord.com for more information, videos, to view progress on the doll-o-meter, and to see a gallery of some of the dolls already sent in!  Please note the dolls must be connected by both hands and feet for the world record attempt to stand.

Big Brother wasn’t left out as he received a copy of the new Playmobil Magazine (which retails at £3.99 and is available from all major and independent newsagents and supermarkets). Playmobil Magazine is packed full of stories and activities with an emphasis on learning through fun. Each issue comes with an exclusive, collectable character, as well as pull-out posters and competitions to win some fantastic Playmobil goodies. Every issue will be themed around a specific playset, with the first issue focusing on the Pirates range.

The toddler was very pleased to add a Pirate to his Playmobil collection. He really enjoyed looking through the magazine and the posters are already up on his bedroom wall!
