Our summer countdown has begun. The children have three days left at school and then we have 6 weeks without clubs, organised activities or the school run! No homework! No running the children from one thing to the next.
Today I’m sharing my Summer beauty trends for 2017. I’m not kidding myself that 6 weeks will be easy but I can’t wait for a break from the normal routine. As much as we all thrive on routine it’s also nice to have a break. The summer holidays actually give me a much-needed chance to shake up my beauty regime. Being a busy mum means I often put myself last. I’m usually the school run mum with the wet hair as I squeeze in a shower just before we rush out the door. My children always hair brushed hair and clean teeth – I’m not ashamed to admit I sometimes hang back from the other parents as I haven’t had time to brush my teeth!
Summer is definitely my time though. Without the need to be constantly on the go I actually spend more time looking after myself.
My 5 Summer beauty trends for 2017
It goes without saying that eating your five-a-day and drinking water remain one of the beauty trends for 2017. Never has it been so important to nourish your body as there’s no point in worrying about how you look on the outside if you’re not taking care of the inside too.
I love looking after my nails and I hope my nail technician will be stocking up on some products from Ellisons to keep them in tip top shape.
Dry brushing was huge last year but right now it’s all about dry face brushing. I actually find this really therapeutic but did you know it’s thought to boost circulation and aid exfoliation?
Sadly I’m really pale skinned and burn easily. Which is why I *love* gradual in-shower lotions. These are perfect for mums who multi-task. What’s not to like about them as they are so easy to apply. Plus they save me time as I don’t to make time for applying fake tan in my day.
I find it hard to wake up without a daily shower but over the holidays I’m going to be brushing up on my shampoo routine. Over washing hair strips it of essential natural oils. So I’m aiming to give my hair a break from everyday washing, avoid some of the styling products I use and let my hair be itself. After all, there’s always dry shampoo!
What are your beauty trends for the Summer? Or will you be going for the natural look over the holidays?

July 18, 2017 at 11:36 pmI definitely agree about the over washing! I used to wash my hair everyday, and it really ruined my hair. It was getting really dry and breaking all the time, so yes, highly recommend drying to wash it less frequently!

July 21, 2017 at 12:20 pmNow Dry Face Brushing is not one I have come across before but if it improves circulation I am all for it. I definitely need to drink more water too! x
