I don’t think you need a special event or anniversary in order to send flowers. Unexpected flowers ‘just because’ are as lovely as ones you expect. There are lots of reasons to send flowers, as a birthday gift or thank you gifts.
I’ve always taken photographs of the flowers I’ve received – perhaps because my husband isn’t the most romantic of men! I’ve only received them a handful of times from him, I’m not sure why as I don’t really enjoy boxes of chocolates. My sister on the other hand is always getting bunches of flowers from her various boyfriends and they are the perfect gifts for her. She is the total opposite of me, very girly!
We received flowers when we got engaged, when we were married and when Edward was born. I think they are a lovely gesture but they never last very long with me looking after them so I end up taking photographs of them!
Bunches of flowers always seem to brighten the house up, even though we have a beautiful garden it is lovely to bring some colour and fresh fragrances into the house. This time of year makes me think of greenery as my mum always decorated our house with holly and ivy around the picture frames. I’m on the lookout for Christmassy flowers to decorate our house. Somehow I’ve managed to keep alive a Christmas cactus for the last 12 months but it needs some company, perhaps a poinsettia, which the local garden centre was full of at the weekend. Poinsettias are very Christmassy. Did you know December 12 is National Poinsettia Day?
Anyway, today has been a special day, so hubby, if you’re reading you know what to do!
