Do You Want to Build a Snowdog ?

Posted on November 25, 2014March 17, 2019 by jenny

It’s not Christmas without watching The Snowman or its sequel, The Snowman and The Snowdog. We watched it over the weekend and I know it will be on Channel 4 again this Christmas.

Originally published in 1978, The Snowman, created and illustrated by Raymond Briggs has become one of the world’s most popular children’s books.  Available in 15 languages it has sold in excess of 8.5 million copies worldwide with over 3 million of these sales in the UK published under Puffin editions.  Adapted for screen by producer John Coates, the Oscar-nominated animation launched on Channel 4 in its inaugural year in 1982 and has been repeated every Christmas since.  The sequel, The Snowman and The Snowdog which premiered on Channel 4 on Christmas Eve 2012 was seen by over 10 million people over the festive period.

#SnowmanSnowdogWe were sent The Snowdog Soft Toy, one of a fabulous selection of The Snowman and The Snowdog gifts, new for 2014. Little Sis immediately claimed it as her own and has carried it everywhere with her. As seen in the film the Snowdog has mismatched socks for ears, gloves for spots and a little orange nose! It’s been so loved it’s already has a bath and came out looking good as new.

The Snowdog Soft Toy is available from Amazon and all good independents and costs £9.99.

I couldn’t find many Snowman and Snowdog crafts but I have started a Pinterest board to inspire our crafting. We’ve made a snowdog from white Playdough and even marshmallows so far!

Follow Jenny Makes’s board Snowman and the Snowdog on Pinterest.

Don’t forget to hop on over to U me and the kids tomorrow to find out about another new Snowman and Snowdog product.
