Having worked for the largest international humanitarian organisation for the last 6 years I know that every little helps. I’ve been able to see exactly how well run campaigns can make a huge difference to those in need, which is why I am happy to support the Oxfam Unwrapped initiative. Since 2004 Oxfam has encouraged people to purchase unique Christmas presents which improve the livelihoods, health and education of people all across the world.
I’ve always recycled wrapping paper (something I learned from my nanny!) and generally try to recycle magazines, envelopes and circulars where possible. Every year I also recycle our Christmas cards into gift tags and personalise them with our own ‘Happy Christmas’ stamp. Oxfam Unwrapped go one better. Why not help save trees with a recycled pad gift set ? A beautiful multi-coloured memo pad made from elephant dung (OU5052AD) price £19.99! Your friends and family will always remember you for this ingenious addition to your Save Trees gift.
If you would like to take part in spreading the word about charity gifts then check out Who’s the Mummy – where you will find information about downloading a goat badge or Oxfam Unwrapped badge, and also all the information needed to take part and share your own Simplify Your Christmas posts.
