I can’t believe we that it’s over a year ago since we reviewed the Simon Air. Every Friday we have a games evening at home and this is a firm family favourite, based on a version of Simon that I remember from my own childhood.
We love to try out the latest toys so were excited to try out the new Simon Optix game from Hasbro. The Simon Optix game takes the Simon game to exciting heights. Put on the headset and get ready to watch, remember, repeat!
The innovative Simon Optix game is a wearable electronic game of lights and sounds in which players must repeat random sequences of lights by moving their hands in the correct order. The suspense builds as the sequence gets longer! You can play solo or with friends in Sync Mode (requires additional headsets, which are sold separately and are subject to availability). No matter which mode they play, kids can challenge themselves to beat their high score!
Inside the box you will find Simon Optix adjustable headset and instructions. Please note that it requires 4 x 1.5V AAA Alkaline batteries which are not included. Once I had put the batteries in (something I am pretty good at now!) we were ready to go.
My son is a bit of a techie. He just loves gadgets so I knew he would enjoy this. He put the headset on and absolutely loved it. He said the wearable headset was a bit like being at your own disco! I think this was a good thing.
You have to watch the lights, remember the colours, and then repeat the pattern. We’ve all had a good few tries on the headset and it’s fun. I’m a bit old-fashioned and love board games but let’s just say that the men of the house loved it. Even my sweet little 5 year old had a go but it kept slipping off her tiny head, much to her dismay.
The Simon Optix game from Hasbro is suitable for ages 8 and up. You can play solo or challenge friends with additional headset (sold separately). Priced £29.99 and available from Amazon and all good toy shops.
