Reaching for the tree tops {Center Parcs treehouse adventure}

outdoor adventures

With the school holidays in full swing I can say that we are coping – just 🙂 My husband is still recovering from his abdominal surgery which means we probably won’t be having another holiday this year. Fortunately we live in London so are spoilt for things to do right on our doorstep. It doesn’t stop me day dreaming though, and I’ve found a magical place I would love to go – to a luxury treehouse in the middle of nowhere.

We’ve already had a brief glimpse of all that Center Parcs has to offer when we visited the Festival of Light at Longleat last year. This is just down the road from my mum’s and I am always being tempted by the signposts and adverts for Center Parcs Longleat Forest.

The children are young and full of energy so a Center Parcs holiday is very appealing. I love the fact you don’t need to leave the site and there are some amazing facilities and activities on offer. What I love about the luxury treehouse accommodation is that you can have brilliant outdoor adventures but them come back and really relax. The treehouse looks like the perfect family retreat with free wifi, entertainment system and games den.

Our family has tried glamping and although we had fun I now realise that I want a home from home on holiday, complete with the ability to go self-catering but also full connectivity. I do switch off when I’m on holiday but I also want to be able to keep in touch, send an Instagram, tweet and share our adventures on Facebook too. I can’t imagine anything worse than limited or overpriced wifi, which is sadly what I found on our recent family cruise.

There’s a great virtual tour which shows you around one of the treehouses and I think it looks amazing. Open plan living is perfect for modern families and it looks big enough that everyone can kick back and relax. I think it looks lovely and light and really want to throw open those double doors and breathe in the smells of the tree canopies.

I love staying in unusual places. As well as our glamping experience, where we slept in a safari tent in woodland in Devon,  last year we slept in a lodge at Whipsnade Zoo. So you can see we are developing a taste for sleeping in unusual places.

I know lots of people have visited Center Parcs so I’d love to hear from you if you’ve been before. Have you stayed in a luxury treehouse or would you like to?

    I last went to Centre Parcs years ago (over 20 years ago….) I loved every minute, but never had a chance to go back. Hoping I can persuade my OH to get away for a weekend to try out one of their spas at a weekend 🙂
