So, 16 days before our wedding and I have managed to break the big toe on my right foot. I stubbed my toe yesterday – which hurt like mad – but couldn’t do anything about it as I was up in north Scotland for work. By the time I got home and looked at my toe it was a horrible shade of purple and I could barely walk on it. This morning I went to see the Doctor who sent me off to get my toe x-rayed at one hospital, and then on to another hospital so the A&E department could decipher the x-ray.
I can’t believe this happened the week my boyfriend was off on a work trip to the south of France and so I’ve spent much of the day in tears hobbling around on public transport! Anyway, I have some NHS crutches, some drugs and a sick note from the Doctor so no work for at least a week. All the Doctors and nurses I spoke to were wonderful and my toe should heal sufficiently to enable me to walk down the aisle without fainting!
