Playdough acorns and the best posts of 2014

2014 was an interesting year. My 4 year old started school full-time and our crafting adventures are now squeezed into after school and weekends. Fortunately he hasn’t lost his appetite for crafting and we’ve had fun experimenting with all kinds of materials and techniques. My 3 year old also has the crafting bug and I’m so happy whenever I hear them ask to craft.

My favourite post of 2014 has to be our playdough acorns.

We love to craft the seasons and both children loved Autumn, watching the leaves change colour and drop. We were inspired to craft and look for all kinds of things nature had to offer us. My 3 year old loves Tinkerbell so acorn caps were quickly re-named Tinkerbell hats. We collected a bag -full, froze them overnight to kill off any bugs and have been crafting with them ever since. We had so much fun making our playdough acorns that my children still enjoy getting them our to make them.

Today I am joining up with other parent bloggers to share our favourite craft, education and parenting posts of 2014. Take a look at all the amazing posts and I really hope you will find something to inspire you. Happy crafting and creating in 2015!

I’m just getting into some crafting myself, and I can’t wait until I have some kiddies in the future to do arts and crafts with!
