Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while although now I’m moved it to Sunday. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to sit down and write. Sunday Happy Things {Week 443} We have survived one week of the Easter holidays. The weather has been amazing (mostly) and our garden has suddenly burst into life, we were even able to cut the grass…

We’ve been enjoying a mini break in the beautiful city of York. It’s been a long time since my last visit and I thought it would be a fun place to visit with the kids. We found a sweet little Airbnb within walking distance of the city centre and booked some family-friendly activities for us. So far we’ve visited The National Railway Museum, Jorvik Viking Centre and the Treasurer’s House. Whilst exploring the streets of York we came across The Cat’s Whiskers, a Cat Cafe. My son just loves cats and really wanted to visit, luckily I was able to…

March has flown by, probably because we had a couple of birthdays and Mothers Day to celebrate. I consciously made more effort to pick up my sewing projects, which was the perfect antidote to spending my day in front of the computer. March crafting The first hoop I stitched in March was this cute ‘Mummy & Me’ embroidery hoop kit from Stitch with Skye. It features a Mother and Child with floral blooms on a 6” embroidery hoop. I haven’t made anything for Mother’s Day for a while and enjoyed stitching something a little different. The second hoop was this…

This year I’m taking part in the Goodreads 2023 Reading Challenge. I set my target to read 35 books this year. I don’t read so much with my children anymore, and I’m also working full-time, which doesn’t leave me as much time to read as I would like. So 35 books felt realistic – there’s nothing worse than setting yourself a target that you won’t reach. I like using Goodreads to record the books I read, but I wanted to make some kind of visual representation too. I decided to combine a mini version of the books I’ve read with…

Both my kids have gone crazy for bottles of Prime! I’ve managed to buy a few of the flavours in Asda and Sainsbury’s but they are so hard to get hold of if you don’t want to spend over the asking price. Prime was developed by KSI & Logan Paul to refresh, replenish, and refuel. There are currently nine flavours, including Blue Raspberry, Lemon Lime and Grape. I haven’t managed to get my hands on any bottles of Prime for a while so I thought I would make my own, painted rock, versions. We love to decorate rocks and these…
