    Canary Wharf Winter Lights Festival

    On Saturday night we headed over to Canary Wharf  on the Elizabeth Line for the Canary Wharf Winter Lights Festival. It’s something we’ve been meaning to visit for the last few years but it’s only on for a few days each year. There were over 20 light installations to see and we did so many steps visiting them all! Canary Wharf Winter Lights Festival The Canary Wharf Winter Lights Festival takes place at Canary Wharf in east London. We took the Elizabeth Line to Canary Wharf station emerging from the station into daylight. The lights were switched on until5 pm…

    Sunday Happy Things {Week 433}

    Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to sit down and write. Sunday Happy Things {Week 433} Finally January is flying by and we are so ready to embrace February next week (and get paid for the first time in weeks too!).  We celebrated the end of the month by having a delicious, and child-free,…

    January crafting

    I’m so happy that January is nearly over. It’s such a long month and I am looking forward to getting paid and embracing February next week! January has felt like a long month, although when I look back I have been quite crafty and made some fun things. I was lucky to receive the 2022 Winter Craftpod subscription box for Christmas from my other half. This is my favourite quarterly subscription box and is always a joy to open. It was just what I needed and I’ve loved making the two craft kits which were inside. 2022 Winter Craftpod There…

    Crafts to celebrate International Lego Day

    Did you know that International Lego Day is celebrated on the 28th January? I hadn’t heard of this day before but I love the sound of anything which celebrates Lego bricks. Our family have always been huge fans of Lego and over the years have shared some fun crafts and activities with Lego. Today I thought I would share crafts to celebrate International Lego Day. Crafts to celebrate International Lego Day How to make a Lego clock – this fun and colourful clock is easy to customise from your favourite Lego bricks. This is a favourite DIY of ours and…

    Day Trips with Toddlers: What You Need to Bring for a Relaxed Day Out

    Getting your children outdoors is very good for them, with the NCT outlining how it helps improve their sleep and motor skills, and encourages a healthy lifestyle. Whether you are visiting Ham House and Garden or spending a day in London, planning a day out with your kids may seem like a fun and enjoyable idea, but many parents know that these outings can often pose quite a challenge once the day comes. Often these excursions can become exhausting, with parents and children worn out as they try and fit as much into the day as they can. This is…

    The Vintage Shop of Second Chances by Libby Page

    The start of the year is usually pretty quiet for me which means I can make a great start on my Reading Challenge! For the last few years I’ve taken part in the Goodreads Reading Challenge and this year have set myself a slightly lower target which I’m hoping is realistic. Today I’m delighted to share my review of The Vintage Shop of Second Chances by Libby Page. The Vintage Shop of Second Chances by Libby Page Among the cobbled streets of the Somerset town of Frome, Lou is embarking on the start of something new. After the death of her beloved mother,…

  • What I'm reading

    Mrs Van Gogh by Caroline Cauchi

    I’m excited to share my first book review of 2023! This year I’ve signed up to the Goodreads 2023 Reading Challenge and set myself a target of reading 35 books. This is slightly less than last year but hopefully more achievable – as I didn’t reach my target last year. I’ve noticed the books I read with the kids are longer and we just don’t have time to read as much as we used to when they were little. Mrs Van Gogh by Caroline Cauchi She’s been painted out of history…until now Who tells her story? In 1890, Vincent Van…

It’s a post I always love to sit down and write. Sunday Happy Things {Week 431} Last week went really quickly as work is so busy at the moment. Luckily we enjoyed a team away day at Missenden Abbey. It was great to have a day out of the office, and a delicious lunch…
