    Day 9

I was catching up on my google reader and saw that allsorts had bought some items from Decorative County Living. They reminded me of these little pieces that I picked up at the Knitting and Stitching Show at Ally Pally last month (I can’t remember the name of the stand I bought them from!). These are all destined to be used in the handmade gifts I will be giving this year, inspired by Handmade Holidays.

    Day 7

Yay, today I won a lovely pumpkin pin on a giveaway from sewSpun. I love the colour and aspire to make something like this one day. I popped into a new Christmas shop which has opened on Marylebone High Street at lunch time today. I got some great inspiration for the handmade ornament swap – I just need to stop watching Dirty Dancing: The Time of Your Life and get my sewing box out. And today my boyfriend got offered a proper job, the kind where you actually do work rather than sit around picking your nose all day. I…

    Day 6

I have joined another seasonal swap called Homemade Ornament Swap hosted by freshly{blended} and Cake & Pie. This sounds like so much fun! You make and send 8-10 ornaments and receive the same back. I love Christmas and am always on the look out for unusual decorations to decorate our tree. This year we are spending Christmas in a lovely hotel but hopefully we will still decorate the house. I am going to sew my ornaments, probably using lots of felt (my new favourite material).

    Day 5

I really don’t like Mondays. The weekends always go so fast I end up resenting being back at work. This feeling lasts all day until I am back home again! My laptop has being playing up all evening so I have been busy making felt cupcakes for a swap. I made a large cupcake which I stuffed and added some vintage ricrac and buttons. Then I made a small cupcake badge, decorated with trimit beads. Hope my swap partner likes them. No pictures as iphoto is playing up too 🙁

    Day 4

Today we’re feeling a bit sad because our pet garden frog has met an untimely end. He was hiding behind a rose bush when we were cutting the grass and is no more. Sigh. So here’s a nice picture taken in Teignmouth this summer. We’re off out to our friends house for dinner.

    Day Three

Ooops, I didn’t have time to post yesterday. I was too tired to to do anything after work last night except watch Ugly Betty! Today my mum visited us on a day trip from the Isle of Wight (thanks mum!). We went for lunch at a great gastro-pub in Winchmore Hill and she helped me with my knitting. She also helped me understand the instructions that came with my bias tape maker and got to grips with the fabric button kit. No pics of my mum advising us on the garden or making more curtains. Instead a photo of a…

    Trying something new

I am feeling much better today. I skipped my course but am bored of being at home, so I know I should go back to work tomorrow. I have spent the day making some Christmas ATC’s and spending copious amounts of time on the internet where I came across nablopomo. I have decided to give it a go as I love a challenge! I finally received some goodies from my swap partner in the Vintage Book and Handmade Bookmark Swap today. Two lovely books, a bookmark (Mary Poppins umbrella) and some lovely handmade cards. My swap partner Gretel Parker is…

Grumpy bunnies – just like me

Not much crafting going on here lately as I’m struggling with a bad cold. I took the day off today so I could spend the day sneezing at home rather than at my desk. The morning was spent wrapping Christmas presents which are now ready to be delivered to family on the Isle of Wight in a couple of weeks. This afternoon I worked on some swaps whilst watching my Spaced dvd. These cute little bunnies fit in a small matchbox. One is a little shy, probably due to the fact his eyes were sewn on a bit wonky. Or…
