I am so glad it’s almost the end of November. Blogging every day is hard! I spent this evening making Christmas cards and wrapping presents. We’re off to the Isle of Wight this weekend and swapping Christmas presents so I’ve been super organised this year. There’s a big pile of presents ready to go. I hope the weather will be good to us!

Hooray, thanks to my iphone I can now blog from anywhere! Today I took a day off and went to visit an old friend from Uni who now lives in Barons Court. Since we last met up she has got married and had a son so we had plenty to catch up on. That part of town is completely different from where we live and it was good to get out and about. Back to work tomorrow which I’m dreading.

I finished my handmade ornaments for the Handmade Ornament swap this evening. I’ve made little stockings with a jingle bell! I hope my partners like them. They’ll be put in the post sometime this week.

No posting yesterday as we didn’t get back from the Amy Winehouse gig at Brixton until after midnight. She was absolutely brilliant, and only 45 minutes late. Today we have been searching all over London for a replacement fret for our fireplace. No-one was willing to see us the bit we wanted so it looks like we’ll be buying a reproduction one on the internet. We popped into Marylebone and looked round a small market at the top of the high street where we picked up these lovely biscuits (almost all gone). We also picked up some wallpaper samples from Farrow…

I was on yet another course today (why do they always seem to be on Thursdays?) and had an early start as I needed to submit some work before I went. So I have spent the evening relaxing, catching up on my google reader and doing not much. I came across this great meme here. Take the book you are currently reading and turn to page 161, then read the 6th sentence and share it. Here’s mine: “It was a strange environment for an artist to work in.” From ‘On Brick Lane’ by Rachel Lichtenstein. This book was actually recommended…

I attended a really demoralising team away day today. To cheer myself up I had lunch looking across the Thames over to the South Bank. It was a wonderful sunny day, perfect for people watching. The day finished early so I walked through Covent Garden which was decorated for Christmas. I headed over to the London Transport Museum for a sneak preview before it opens tomorrow. They have a snazzy new layout but pretty much the same objects are on display as before their refit. I love these destination boards from buses.

I spent the evening cutting out fabric for my handmade ornaments and started sewing them together. Six down, four to go!

Hooray, today there was some progress with the handmade Christmas ornament. I have made a prototype which turned out well and I should be able to start making the real ones this week. I found some great fabric in Brighton on Saturday. Perhaps I’ll post a little preview tomorrow. I’ve seen a couple of posters on the tube for a Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park over Christmas. They have a German market, ice skating, an observation wheel and lots more. I definitely want to go!
