    Sock Monkey

I spent the weekend making this cute sock monkey from a pattern in Sock and Glove by Miyako Kanamori. I had loads of fun making him, (it’s definitely a he) and I’ve called him Alfie. He’s made out of a very special sock from M&S and will be winging his way across the Atlantic to my swap partner shortly. In other news, this afternoon I got engaged!

    Lovely swap package received

Today I received a parcel from Kristin as part of the coaster swap hosted by Amy. I almost couldn’t open the parcel as the packaging was so pretty! They are made with embroidery and wool felt and the design is so striking. Thanks Kristin!

    New Orla Kiely range

I was lucky enough to receive a travel journal from the new Orla Kiely range for my birthday. It’s the car print which matches one of my favourite handbags. The journal contains a combination of papers – ruled, graph and blank, as well as a variety of colourful stickers. Don’t they look great together?

    D-3 Jason’s Jacks

Today I finished D-3 Jason’s Jacks using a lovely bright fabric from Aunty Cookie. We spent Easter on the Isle of Wight where I scoured the local charity shops and picked up some lovely vintage toys. The weather was bizarre, sometimes sunny and warm, but also windy with snow, sleet and hail. We braved Ryde seafront yesterday for a walk in the wind where we struggled to stay upright.

Exhausted – tired doesn't come close!

Today I have been to Geneva and back. Yes, Geneva. From London and back again. I am very tired. I had a successful day though, visiting the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum. The only problem was having too much time to spare at the airport on the way home. First I bought a copy of Marie Claire Idees (which I can’t seem to find in London). Then I bought some tacky souvenirs for my sister. Then I bought a whole load of chocolate for various friends and family members. Finally I bought some supplies in Duty Free. Not…

    Tired :(

This week feels veerrry long, probably as my weekend was so short. I needed a break from the Dear Baby Jane blocks (A7 Dad’s Plaid looks hard!) so I tried my hand at making a Dotee doll. These are very popular at the moment and it was quick and fun to make. I signed up to a swap to make a local Dotee doll, so used the union flag on the body.
