Today we went for a muddy walk in Epping Forest. It’s not far from where we live and it was lovely to get out and about. We also visited Queen Elizabeth’s Hunting Lodge, a lovely, quirky, Tudor building. It’s been such a busy weekend. We went and saw Keane at the O2 on Friday and had a lovely meal at the Quality Chop House yesterday. I wish I could say I was ready for a new week but I’m not!

I received some lovely colourful squares of felt today – an impulse order from paper and string. They are small-ish squares but such great colours I know I will find them useful. I also bought some lovely ribbon, felt ric-rac and an owl softie kit. love using felt so it will be a pleasure to find some time to make it.

I love gingerbread, especially making and eating it. Here’s a photo of some I made as Christmas decorations before Christmas.

our wedding rings, originally uploaded by Jennifer Young. I’m pleased to say I managed to walk unaided (apart from the arm of my cousin) down the aisle on Saturday. The day went really well, the weather was AMAZING and I was only 10 minutes late for the Church! We’re off on honeymoon to Scandinavia for 2 weeks …. bliss.

I thought my crafting mojo had well and truly left me over the last few months what with wedding preparations and my toe injury. As Lottie commented, sick leave = crafting time but I haven’t felt like making anything, until today. I read about the free Black Apple Doll months ago but thought I would attempt it. The pattern can be found here and this is how it turned out: not bad for a first attempt! I also received some lovely goodies from Belle and Boo today. I couldn’t resist purchasing some of their lovely stickers, magnets and paper goods.…

The joy of being at home resting my foot means that I am ready to pounce on the postman before he has a chance to take parcels back to the depot. Today I received a lovely parcel from Sam as I was the lucky winner of her recent blogiversary giveaway. She sent me a beautiful handmade card, ring, keyring and necklace made from her wonderful fabric covered buttons. The parcel really cheered me up and her work is amazing so go and check it out! These also arrived today, beautiful pearl hairpins for the wedding. I spent ages looking for…

So, 16 days before our wedding and I have managed to break the big toe on my right foot. I stubbed my toe yesterday – which hurt like mad – but couldn’t do anything about it as I was up in north Scotland for work. By the time I got home and looked at my toe it was a horrible shade of purple and I could barely walk on it. This morning I went to see the Doctor who sent me off to get my toe x-rayed at one hospital, and then on to another hospital so the A&E department…

Orla Kiely for Heal’s 2008, originally uploaded by Jennifer Young. I just couldn’t resist showing you this page from the new Heal’s look book Autumn/Winter 2008. We wandered past Heal’s yesterday and were surprised to see several Orla Kiely prints hanging outside Heal’s on Tottenham Court Road. According to Heal’s “Orla Kiely has created a collection of furniture, for every room in the home, which showcases her distinctive style. Taking inspiration from the mid 20th century, each piece is beautifully crafted using Orlas iconic stem motif as a decorative element engraved in the wood and melamine and printed on the…
