    QuinnyCasters News #4

We took the Quinny Zapp Xtra out today for the first time. We had plans to meet a friend for lunch so hopped on the tube to the other side of London. We had a lovely walk along the Thames, lunch in a great pub, followed by a spot of shopping. The Quinny did us proud, easily managing the tube system, escalators and lifts. We weaved in and out of the people at a busy shopping centre and hung our shopping bags off the handles (even though you’re not meant to!).

    QuinnyCasters News #3

With the Quinny Zapp Xtra came the first challenge to record the unpacking of the Quinny. We couldn’t wait any longer so tonight, after Edward was in bed, we opened it. We thought just over 8 minutes to unpack the Quinny and set it up wasn’t bad, especially as Emma managed to put hers up – blindfolded – in 10!

    QuinnyCasters News #1

As I mentioned the other day I am very excited to be a QuinnyCaster. I’ve been trying to think of a different way to review the product and thought it might be fun to make my own cartoon strip about it! Let’s see how successful I am… Here is the first installment: Introducing the Kearney’s and second installment: Preparation What do you think? Good idea or not?

Interflora don't love my blog but ..

Well it seems some lovely lucky ladies have recently been receiving flowers from a well established florists. Sadly I wasn’t one of them but I did receive a rather lovely bunch of flowers from my hubby as it’s our second wedding anniversary today. I also received this lovely Cath Kidston necklace which I have been coveting for a while. It’s called ‘make do and mend’ and features a mini sewing machine, cotton spool and scissors – I love it! I also received my Secret Post Club parcel – some choc, a lovely shopping bag and some cream!

Yesterday a taxi driver saved my life

Yesterday a taxi driver saved my life. Ok, so I’m being a bit dramatic but seriously a taxi driver did help us! Our NCT group have been looking for events to get us through the colder months and someone came across Mini Mozart classes. It’s very popular but we managed to squeeze into the post-natal group. Our first class was yesterday at the local YMCA. I don’t drive but I knew which bus to take and did my usual calculations on what time we needed to leave – taking into account getting Edward dressed, clean nappy, packing the changing and…

The Gallery: A Smile (one of many)

Looking through my photographs of Edward’s first six months I’m struck by just how many pics there are of him smiling! According to my scrupulous records he first smiled on his 35 day and he quickly learnt to laugh too. This pic is one of my favourite. Edward seems to save his biggest smiles for when daddy walks through the door after a hard day at the office. I’m not jealous when I’m the one who changes the nappies, feeds him, washes his dirty clothes, etc as each smile makes my heart leap that little bit higher inside. This post…

    QuinnyCaster

I’m very proud to announce that I am a QuinnyCaster! A couple of weeks ago I saw a tweet advertising for mums and dads to test drive the new Quinny Zapp Xtra. In return the QuinnyCasters share their experiences on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr. I love social media so was keen to apply and I was lucky! Yay! I even get to keep the Quinny Zapp Xtra after six months which is a godsend as our current pram has seen better days. I can’t wait to get my hands on it and take Edward out for a spin 🙂…

    Swimming lessons

Last week Edward and I headed off to our local swimming pool for our first swim together. When I was pregnant I went to antenatal swimming class which I really enjoyed so I wanted Edward to enjoy swimming so we could do something special together. I was nervous about getting to the pool on time, what to wear, changing and whether he would like the water. Fortunately Edward loved his first swim (which was brilliant as we had to pay in advance for 3 months of classes!). It was nice to be back in the warm water and the instructor…

    Bugaboo Donkey – what the?

Where we live you’re not someone unless you have a Bugaboo. When we found out we were expecting we booked a nursery appointment at John Lewis and discussed pram options! We both liked the Bugaboo Cameleon and were lucky enough to have friends who no longer needed theirs. It has lasted us well and been pimped with a drinks holder and new fabric set. When we were marooned on the Isle of Wight Edward slept in the bassinet ( our midwife said this was ok) and we converted it quite early to the seat as Edward wanted to sit up.…
