    Memory box

I’m a hoarder and I’m not afraid to admit it! This is why my job as a curator is perfect as it allows me to collect, catalogue and keep for ever! I’ve always kept momentoes of events – I have boxes full of ticket stubs as well as photographs, programmes and keepsakes. When we got married two years ago I squirreled away a selection of items to remind me of our wedding day – a programme, an invite, some wedding cake, a thank you card, as well as our official wedding album and guest book. I knew I wanted to…

    Review: Miffy rattle car

The lovely people at Miffy sent Edward a toy from the new selection of classic Miffy toys which have never been available in the UK before. The Miffy rattle car is suitable from 6 months and features a chunky handle – prefect for little chubby fingers learning to grip. Each of the four wheels contains small balls, which provide the rattle, and feature Dick Bruna’s other well known characters. The rattle makes a noise when pushed along. At 7 months Edward is interested in toys he can really interact with so I wasn’t sure how much fun he would have with…

Winnie the Pooh stamps at London Zoo

We were lucky enough to be invited to London Zoo to help celebrate the launch of the new Royal Mail Winnie the Pooh stamps. This was the first time that we had taken Edward to London Zoo so we were all very excited. Winnie the Pooh stamps at London Zoo We saw penguins, an owl, lions, tigers, gorillas and giraffes (our very favourite animals) and lots more animals. London Zoo kindly provided afternoon tea which was followed by a reading from Winnie the Pooh. Edward was very well behaved and was rewarded with a set of the new Winnie the…

    The Baby Show

Today we visited The Baby Show. We spent 4 hours visiting stands, playing with the latest baby toys, tasting the latest snacks and collecting goody bags like there was no tomorrow! I won tickets, and an essentials b.box which I collected today, from Koo-di. The Show was an experience like I’ve never experienced before and I’m not sure we would go again. Although we got there at 10am the place filled up really quickly and it was difficult to move between pregnant women and buggies 🙂 We watched a first aid demonstration by the British Red Cross and listened to…

A tourist in our own city

Today we met my cousin and her family as she hadn’t yet met Edward. We had lunch in the cafe at the Mamas and Papas on Regent Street. The food is delicious, the location is perfect and it’s never too busy as not many people seem to know about it. Edward got lots of kisses and couples from his adoring great aunt and cousins, and pressies too, so he was very excited. After lunch we went for a walk around central London. Although we often pop into the West End we never seem to have time to relax and be…

    QuinnyCasters News #6

Quinny have asked to have a look at the chassis of our Quinny Zapp Xtra in light of it falling over with Edward in it. So it has been carefully packed and returned to Quinny HQ. We look forward to seeing if they find anything wrong with it. In the meantime, we will be resorting to using our faithful, vintage (i.e. very old) Bugaboo.

    Bringing back bath time

I love this picture that I took tonight. We decided it was about time we re-introduced a regular bath time to our night-time routine. Over the last few weeks Edwards’ eczema has improved so much it’s difficult to believe I used to cry over his poor cracked skin. For a while we decided not to bath him as the water dried his skin out. There are still a few dry patches but it’s nothing like it was. Fortunately he still fits his baby bath but now he loves to sit upright – so different from a few weeks ago!

What do you buy the boy who has everything?

I’m wondering what do you buy the boy who has everything for his first Christmas? My son has everything he needs and at 7 months he’s too young to hand me a wish list of toys he would like. My husband has been restoring some beautiful vintage wooden toys for him and I’m making him a dinosaur blanket to snuggle up with. I’m sure he’ll be spoiled by his extended family too. He is now sitting up independently so we’ve packed the baby gym away. I recently bought some colourful and noisy toys which he loves to play and interact…

    To my seven month old

I can’t believe Edward is 7 months old today. It’s the biggest cliche but time is really flying. I can truthfully say I’ve loved every minute so far! Edward is 7 months old. He weighs 9860g He’s 68 cm tall His favourite activities include bouncing in his Lindam bouncer, swimming, music classes, playing with loud and noisy toys, snoozing in mummys’ arms and cuddles with daddy. No teeth yet although we’ve been teething for ages. He sleeps from 7pm until 7am (sometimes 8am!). He eats 3 meals a day, drinks 3 bottles of milk and we’re slowly weaning him off…
