As part of my Day Zero challenge I’m aiming to take part in at least one swap a month. So in the run up to Christmas I signed up for a couple of Christmas swaps. First up was the Blogger’s Secret Santa organised by Leanne where I received a copy of Cath Kidston’s Sew! from Helen. It’s full of beautiful projects to make (some of which will probably end up as birthday and Christmas presents). I sent a Moleskine recipe journal to Domestic Goddesque. Then I joined up for the Secret Christmas Ornament Swap organised by Denise and I received…

Ok, so I had to visit three Tesco stores but I finally got my hands on an Orla Kiely Scribble Pear design reuseable shopping bag. I mentioned back in November that Orla Kiely has designed a range of bags exclusively for Tesco. They are made of juco (a material technology that combines jute with cotton). The bag is lovely and strong and cost £4. The Scribble Pear design is the first in the range. For each bag sold a contribution of 50p of the sale price of each bag will be divided equally and paid to CLIC Sargent Cancer Care…

I’ve been visited by the Appliances Online fairy! You may have seen the blog love that has recently been spreading. It started with a new washing machine for Single Parent Dad, then on to Rosie Scribble who gained a new television, next up was Typecast who received a rather large jar of sweets. Last week it was my turn when I opened a lovely email asking if they could send me something. To be honest I hadn’t heard of Appliances Online until they started sharing the love and I saw their name cropping up in my google reader. Apparently they…

I really want to go to CyberMummy11 and Mummy Tips is giving the chance to win a ticket by taking part in the ‘Your 2010 in Pictures’ meme. Here is my contribution: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSrAkcpKCwU&fs=1&hl=en_US]

I’m so excited about what 2011 will bring. 2010 has had its’ highs with the arrival of Edward as well as the lows with my husband being hospitalised twice. We’ve spent a large part of the year away from home due to his illness which put a dampener on my maternity leave. However we have a lot to look forward to with planning for baby number two and I need to decide whether to return to work or not in a couple of months. I HAVE to learn to drive this year. Every year I promise myself I will take…

As part of the latest QuinnyCasters challenge I invited a fellow QuinnyCaster to write a guest post about her experiences with the Quinny Zapp Xtra. Sabina writes over at Mummy Matters: Describe the Quinny Zapp Xtra in three words – Lightweight, Versatile, Funky Marks out of ten? – 8/10 What’s your favourite feature? – I love that you can have it front or parent facing, its nice to have the choice. Can I sneak in a second “favourite” – I love the hood, its so much better than other hoods on the market. What could be improved? – The chassis…

What do men think of pushchairs? We have a very trendy friend who only ever uses one hand to push his son around but I’m pleased to say when we’re out and about my husband does his fair share of pushing. So I thought I’d ask his for his thoughts on the Quinny Zapp Xtra: What do men really think of pushchairs? The first I heard of the Quinny Zapp Xtra was back in September when my wife told me she was a QuinnyCaster. My pushchair knowledge was limited to what I had seen as part of our John Lewis…

I can’t believe we’ve now been using the maclaren baby travel kit for four weeks. The travel sized products have lasted well through several uses. Unfortunately one of the bottles leaked in the post so the lovely Maclaren people sent a replacement kit. This has been the only problem. We’ve enjoyed using each product. Although we’ve never used special baby products before we’ve relished the opportunity of adding luxury to bath time. Edward’s skin has benefited from the natural ingrdients and is soft and smooth. He still has a mad half hour of energy before bed but using the bath…
