We’re currently on holiday so I have been lucky to have several new charity shops to browse. Last week we were in Teignmouth where I found this beauty: a vintage Tonka truck. I was strangely excited when I saw this as it wasn’t plastic but metal. There’s a little bit of rust but nothing that can’t be fixed and it’s perfect for Edward to play with in his new sandpit! We’re looking forward to a big family Easter this year. Looking back at this photo, which was only taken a year ago, Edward looks so small. Now he’s a toddler stomping around, keeping me on my toes all day long. Every year my mum puts on an Easter egg hunt for her children and grandchildren. Last year I helped Edward put the chocolate eggs in his basket and Daddy ate them. I expect this year I’ll be running around after him making sure he doesn’t pick up his cousins’ eggs. I’m excited about the prospect of the Royal Wedding next week. My husband has the day off work and my sister and niece should be coming to stay. I wanted to make something to commemorate the special day and I am proud to present my London cupcakes. I’ve used Union flag cupcake cases and my toppers show famous London landmarks, such as Big Ben, a London taxi cab, a London bus and a Foot Guard. I have to confess I had help with the cupcakes, using the new Betty Crocker chocolate fudge cupcake mix which tasted divine!

I scored some amazing bargains in the charity shops of Crouch End for Edward. A lovely wooden Noah’s Ark with all the figures for £4. It’s made by BigJigs and sells for £29.99 so I’m very pleased. A wooden shape sorter. Edward keeps taking the lid off so he’s not quite using it the way you’re meant to but it’s lovely watching him play with it. I bought it for £1.
