We are a family who love to play board games together. We love to review the latest family board game, we play board games and also play board games on our phones when we are apart! Yes, we love board games and try to find out the latest board game cafe too! Carcassonne is one of our favourite tile playing games so we upped our game by creating our own easy Carcassonne biscuits to enjoy whilst playing. Easy Carcassonne biscuits I used a simple biscuit recipe to first of all make my biscuits. I followed a recipe on BBC Good…

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. This is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write. Five Happy Things {Week 458} Last week felt like a big week as my daughter had her last day in Year 6, and therefore the last day at Junior school. In September she will be going to a new school in a different area. She enjoyed a BBQ…

It seems a while since I shared one of our family days out here. Looking through my photos shows that we’ve had some great days out and I don’t always get round to writing about them. During the half term holidays we were able to explore beautiful Montacute House in Somerset with the kids (and dog). Exploring Montacute House with kids We are lucky to have life time membership of the National Trust and it means we have some lovely days out exploring historic places around the UK. Montacute House is a stunning example of Elizabethan Renaissance architecture and design,…

It’s been a while since we’ve painted any rocks to hide locally. We have such a stash that we can pick a couple up on our way out, we have so many! However I recently had some small off-cuts of my favourite Liberty fabrics and decided to use them to make some updated rocks. Liberty fabric rocks I like to keep a pot for scraps of Liberty fabrics. Liberty fabrics are so colourful and pretty that it seems a shame to throw them away, so the simplest thing to do was keep a small pot for little pieces and off…

Even though you’re always busy rushing around after other people, you should still make time to look after yourself. If you’re not looking after your physical and mental well-being, you can’t give enough to others. This will eventually mean that you’ll reach burnout, and at this point, it can often be too late to start introducing positive changes. To avoid this situation, you need to practice self-care, even when you’re busy with your family and children. Focus on Your Physical and Mental Well-being To begin with, you’re going to want to focus on your physical and mental well-being. This means…

This is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write. Five Happy Things {Week 457} The house was very quiet last week as my daughter was away with school at her Year 6 residential on the Isle of Wight. She was only away for 5 days but I missed her a lot. My husband went to Goodwood Festival…

We spent today re-visiting Blenheim Palace. It has been a good few years since we last visited and we were excited to visit again but this time with our children. Our gifted tickets were given so we could visit the Royal Connections, Crowns and Coronets exhibition which features some of the lavish collections of Blenheim Palace, along with costumes from The Crown and Bridgerton (which were both filmed at Blenheim Palace). Crowns and Coronets exhibition at Blenheim Palace The last date to explore Blenheim Palace’s current exhibition Royal Connections, Crowns and Coronets is Sunday 30th July, so don’t miss out…

My daughter is looking forward to a summer of reading and can’t wait to get started on the Summer Reading Challenge at our local library. We love to discover new authors and books, and share them with you! Today I’ve teamed up with Little Tiger and have a lovely book giveaway for a middle grade reader. Me and the Robbersons: Bandit Karaoke A madcap adventure starring a bandit family, a LOT of sweets and a girl who is ready for adventure… Maisie’s summer can FINALLY start when she’s whisked away from a boring music camp by her bandit family, the…
