On the eleventh day of Christmas my mummy bought for me – an Etch-a-Sketch for Etchin, (science kits for kids, an eco game for playing, friends from Sylvania, a Rastamouse that sings, a 3D Puzzle, Club Penguin Gifts, fun festive crafts and a hamster dressed like royalty!). A present that the whole family will want to get their hands on! Everyone loves Etch a Sketch and the simple pleasure of creating your very own artistic creations so the 50th anniversary edition (has it been that long?) is the perfect way to celebrate. Etch a Sketch is available from Flair for…

It’s funny how the beautiful family home we bought before we had children is now bursting at the seams. We clearly never anticipated the explosion of stuff that came with having one child and with the arrival of Little Sis we are now constantly tripping over toys, children or cats and are looking forward to moving sometime next year. I’m excited at the prospect of gaining space and perhaps the chance to update some of our furniture which we’ve had for years. Little Sis is currently in with us but in a couple of months she’ll need her own space.…

One of the things I had forgotten about having a baby was how much they dislike being washed and changed and Little Sis is no different. She suffers from reflux, just like her Big Brother did, which means we get through plenty of vests and babygros each day. Being a winter baby she needs plenty of wrapping up when we venture out so I was really excited when I was offered a Nod Pod baby blanket to try. Nod Pod baby blanket We were sent a white Nod Pod which is a contemporary version of a baby blanket, designed to…

On the tenth day of Christmas my mummy bought for me – Fire Trucks for Saving, (science kits for kids, an eco game for playing, friends from Sylvania, A Rastamouse that sings, a 3D Puzzle, Club Penguin Gifts, fun festive crafts and a hamster dressed like royalty!) I have to admit that until recently we hadn’t watched any episodes of Fireman Sam! We usually stick to cBeebies but that didn’t stop Edward from recognising a helicopter, one of the range of Fireman Sam Vehicles available from Character Options for £9.99. Help everyone’s favourite hero next door, Fireman Sam save the…

Edward just loves visiting the zoo and Schleich animal packs are the next best thing! Bring the zoo to your home this Christmas with a multitude of gorgeous hand-painted wildlife figures from Schleich – giraffe, zebra and a rhinoceros which retail from £2.75 and are available from www.schleich-s.com Don’t forget to check…

Having a little family of my own really makes me feel like a responsible adult! As soon as Big Brother was born we set up a savings account for him and we’re about to do the same for Little Sis. I must admit that my husband is in control of most of the important financial things, such as the mortgage, the bills and car insurance renewal. I’m very lucky that he deals with all these things as since giving up work my brain is quite mushy. I’d rather be responsible for the domestic side of things and ensure the cupboards…

I’ve been feeling sorry for Little Sis as virtually everything she has is second hand from her Big Brother. Last week (before she arrived!) I was sorting through bedding and blankets and found one cream blanket which had hardly been used. So I thought I would give it a bit of a makeover with some dye! I had a packet of Dylon Intense Violet dye which was suitable for hand dyeing (my husband won’t let me use dye in the washing machine yet!). After Edward was in bed I made up the dye and put the cream blanket in the…

We thought we’d finish off our Christmas shopping today so visited Brent Cross in the hope that a mid-week shop would be quiet. We were wrong and it was very busy. Big Brother visited the (free) Santa’s Grotto and we have a rather sulky photograph to show for it. While we were there I picked up some Gingerbread men biscuits in a bag from John Lewis. John Lewis seem to be stocking lots of gingerbread biscuits this year and also sell gingerbread house and heart decorations and extra large gingerbread men. The hand decorated gingerbread men biscuits are presented in…
