    Celebrating World Book Day with Miles Kelly

    I love working with Miles Kelly. Not only do they publish brilliant books they also come up with some really fun ideas to celebrate and promote reading. I’m sure you’re all well aware that World Book Day is coming up soon which is one of the biggest celebrations of children’s books and reading. This year my 3 year old will be going to nursery in his favourite pyjamas and taking his favourite book with him. We’ve also received a book voucher which we’re looking forward to spending soon. Celebrating World Book Day with Miles Kelly I was offered the chance…

    A pot of gold {St Patrick’s Day craft}

    A couple of weeks ago we had loads of fun making our own salt dough leprechaun gold coins. There’s loads of imagery around St Patrick’s Day but my 3 year old really loved talking about rainbows so we thought we’d make our own, with handprints. He’s a great age for directing his own crafting (which is kind of scary!) so we got out the supplies together : white paper, paint tray and red, orange, yellow, green and blue paints. I squeezed the paint out whilst he sponged it over one hand, pressing it down on the paper until he had…

    Getting ready for Pancake Day

    Are you excited about Pancake Day next week? We are! It has to be one of my favourite childhood memories – the anticipation, the smell and sounds of the cooking and of course, the yummy flavours. I think Pancake Day remains special because although pancakes are simple, cheap and quick to make, we usually only eat them once a year. Our 2 and 3 year old need a little help to appreciate the finer things in life. Which is why we had a practice run for Pancake Day or Shrove Tuesday as it’s traditionally known. You really don’t need many…

    How do you like your pancakes?

    Last week we were the lucky recipients of a Magic Pancake Possibilities Box from Warburtons. I never knew Warburtons made pancakes, we’re much more used to eating their delicious bread, so we were looking forward to trying them. My children absolutely loved opening the Magic Pancake Box which played Pure Imagination from the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory film everytime the lid was opened. The box was a very special full sensory fun packed pancake kit, which helped keep my children entertained during half term and also gave us some new ideas ahead of Pancake Day on March 4th.…

    Bento-inspired fruit plate

    How are you coping with half term? I’m pretty pleased we’ve reached the half way point 🙂 I love my 3 year old but he talks non-stop from the second he sneaks into bed with me in the morning until his bedtime. Those few hours he spends at nursery each day are a very welcome break but that’s not to say the break from the normal routine isn’t welcome. We’ve been pretty busy with a trip into the West End, story time at the library and lots of baking and crafts at home. I thought the children needed a boost…

    {book review} Hello! London

    We love living in London and the next best thing to being out and about is reading books about London. Hello! London, illustrated by Marion Billet, is a beautiful new book from Campbell Books. Aimed at 1 year+ my children have been enjoying looking at this book together. Turn the London Eye, open and close Tower Bridge, take a ride on the Tube and more! Push, pull and slide the scene to explore the sights of the busy city. Hello! London is a fantastic book as there’s so much to look at and talk about. Perfect for Londoners or those just…
