I was recently offered the opportunity to review The Care Bears: Totally Sweet Adventures on DVD. As a child of the early 80s I fondly remembered Care Bears so couldn’t resist sharing this with my children to see what they thought. Last weekend I attended a workshop at Tate Britain. It was one of a series of workshops run in conjunction with their latest exhibition – British Folk Art. I love the way my 4 year old tells me what they’ve been learning at nursery. I know they do some amazing topics. The other day I noticed they’d been block printing colourful houses in the style of a Brazilian artist. He’s also been telling me about mixing colours to make new colours. Last week we had an amazing day at Legoland. We try and go every year and we’ve always been blessed with amazing weather. I can’t quite believe my son will soon complete a year at Nursery. We’ve already had a letter in his book bag about a presentation to the teachers for all their hard work with our children. This is the first year we’ve had to think about an end of term gift. Over the past couple of months I’ve been slowly embroidering hexagons for Wild Olive’s Spring Stitching Club quilt, a fun weekly stitching club. I finished the embroidered panel but needed to put the quilt together. I’m not great at finishing projects so I blogged about my progress in the hope it would encourage me to complete it. I’m pretty pleased to say I finished my quilt over the weekend! It’s lovely to see it finished after working on small hexagons for weeks. We’ve been lucky to have some amazing family days out recently. Last weekend we spent a day at London Zoo thanks to Superbreak who supplied us with a family ticket. A day at London Zoo We love going to the Zoo, especially as we heard there were a few new areas since our last visit. Our first stop was the recreated South American beach landscape called Penguins Beach. We’re fully embracing the warm summer weather and having fun with some summer crafting. It’s lovely to see our garden bursting with colour and we decided to pick some flowers and try painting with them. The children were excited about painting with something other than a sponge or paint brush.
