    Sockflow subscription box

I do love receiving fun mail which is why I love trying out and featuring subscription boxes on my little blog. The latest one we’ve tried out is the Sockflow.com subscription box which is a monthly sock subscription or sock of the month club, where they pick great quality, coloruful, stylish socks for you. A few days ago a colourful envelope popped through my door containing this sweet little bag. Inside were two pairs of socks and a little card with washing instructions. Now I have to be honest and say I wasn’t sure if the socks were for adults…

Monday happy things – Week 72

For once I am happy it’s Monday because now we can countdown to half term. Although this term is going quickly I can’t wait for a week off from the school run and after school clubs. My children need a break from school too and the chance to relax and be themselves again. So far February has been good to us. I started by stitching a new month in my gorgeous Year in Stitches calendar, surely the nicest way to mark the changing months. My son was invested into Beavers last week. He’s been going along for a few weeks…

    Gingerbread Clanger biscuits

Did you have a favourite tv programme when you were a child? I loved the Clangers and Rentaghost and I’m glad the Clangers are still around for my children to enjoy. My  5 year old loves Tiny, Small and Major and somehow an episode of the Clangers has made it into his bedtime routine. Make your own Clanger inspired gingerbread biscuits I thought I should whip up some gingerbread Clanger biscuits for him as an after school treat. I used the light gingerbread recipe from Gingerbread Wonderland which I also used for our Gingerbread Iron Golem biscuits and copied a…

    Playmobil Eggs for Easter

We’ve been Playmobil Playologists for the last few years and my children absolutely love receiving Playmobil eggs for Easter. They receive plenty of chocolate eggs from friends and family so these plastic eggs and toys are a great alternative. This year they were sent two of the Playmobil Eggs. There are 4 different toys available, each in a different coloured plastic shell. Little Sis received the Mermaid with Seahorses and Big Brother the Soccer Player with Goal. Both eggs contained lots of pieces so you need to build the toys. Neither took very long to put together and each toy…

A patchwork letter J for my quilt gallery wall

Today I wanted to share the latest subscription box I have tried. I love to sew so I thought I would try a subscription box from My Fabric House.  I bought myself the Explore Package for £10 and a little parcel arrived containing 4 pieces of fabric, some bobble trim, ribbon, appliques and buttons. I love the colours of the fabric and had the perfect project in mind for the strawberry fabric. A while ago my Instagram feed was full of the most gorgeous patchwork letters, which were a free pieced alphabet from Moda and their amazing designers. I really…
