The Easter Goody Bag from Hotel Chocolat review

If you follow me over on Instagram you’ll know I recently posted this pic of The Easter Goody bag from Hotel Chocolate. I was kindly sent one to review and have been enjoying trying these indulgent goodies this week.   Hotel Chocolat is a British chocolatier and cocoa grower, with over seventy shops in the United Kingdom. Hotel Chocolat is the only company in the United Kingdom to grow cocoa on its own plantation. The Easter Goody Bag is a great size for chocolate lovers, filled with a selection of handbag-sized treats. This makes a great alternative to a traditional…

    Chalkboard wooden house blocks

Today I’m joining in with the monthly Kid Craft Challenge organised by The Resourceful Mama. The theme this month is a craft from a recycled item and as we have (many) offcuts of wood in the shed, I thought it would be fun to make something from these. Chalkboard wooden house blocks First I asked my husband to cut the offcuts into smaller pieces. I roughly measured the blocks about 10cm x 5cm, and he cut them using his electric mitre saw. My 5 year old helped sand each block using a sanding block. My husband taught him the correct way to…

Monday happy list – week 77

Happy Monday everyone, hope you had a great weekend. Time for my weekly post about all the things which have made me really happy over the last 7 days. Sometimes I struggle to find 5 things, other days I have more than 5 and have a hard job picking my favourite 5. The idea is to remind myself of all the good things which happen and be more mindful. I got my Shipping Forecast quilt out, albeit briefly. Life is just crazy at the moment and I need to spend more time doing the things I enjoy. So far I…

    Hand-painted Easter Egg Hunt sign

Are you getting in the mood for Easter? We definitely are and have loved doing Springtime crafts. We’re all counting down the days until the school holidays start and we can all relax from the school routine. I’ve been taking part in Easter egg hunts since I was little and I love the fact my children now enjoy it too. They both take a basket and go off around the house (and garden, weather permitting) to search for eggs to fill them with. Every year we seem to use different decorations and this year we have had a go at…

We really enjoy crafting with these large glass jars and now the children are a little bit older  I don’t worry about them so much. Saint George lived in the 3rd century and was born in what was the Roman Empire, somehow he ended up as the patron Saint of England. Getting ready for Easter with Matalan

The children enjoy Easter almost as much as Christmas and we love to make Easter cards and decorations, bake Easter treats and go on an Easter egg hunt. This year Matalan kindly sent us a big basket full of their Easter range to show you. Over the last few days we have been busy trying everything out. I usually pop into Matalan to buy clothes for the children. They are always great quality and wear well. I seem to have missed a trick though as I didn’t realise they sell so many other things! The children have already made their…

Win a copy of Orla Kiely colouring book

As a huge fan of Orla Kiely design and adult colouring books you probably weren’t surprised to hear I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a copy of the Orla Kiely colouring book. In this, her first colouring book, Orla includes a feature on her much-loved palette, explains how to add texture to the page and create new colours through layering. Pick up some crayons or felt-tips and create your own fabulous patterns and prints. It’s the perfect gift for anyone who loves colouring, fashion, design and illustration. The book really is a delight and I love looking at…
