    Gummy Bear Coconut Water Ice Lollies

    The weather has been pretty poor over the school holidays but we’ve had a ew nice days here and there. With the weather forecasting good weather we had a go at making some ice lollies in some little moulds I bought at Flying Tiger. The recipe was simple but it was something the kids could do and enjoy. You can make any kind of homemade lollies but I wanted them to be eye catching so used cute little gummy bears! Our Sylvanian Families Busy Box

    A while ago we made our Lego mad son a Lego Busy Box to keep him busy on car journeys. It’s been really successful and gone everywhere with us, but his younger sister wanted her own version. Now she’s not quite as obsessed with Lego as he is so instead we made her a Sylvanian Families Busy Box. It’s no secret that my 5 year old is Sylvanian Families obsessed. She spends all her pocket money on the toys and all her time making little videos of her playsets. She really loves the babies so her Sylvanian Families Busy Box…

    Back to School with Duck Tape {giveaway}

    Yesterday was spent buying school shoes and this morning I was stitching on name labels. I even ordered the hot dinners for my daughter who is going into Year 1. I’m feeling pretty pleased with myself as I hate having to rush around and do everything last minute. Being prepared means we can spend the last few weeks of the holiday at the park with friends and crafting. My son is starting Year 3 and he’s been seriously excited about his stationery list! If you’re looking for some fun Back to School crafts then you may want to stock up…

    My car safety checklist

    Photo by Ben Neale on Unsplash I’m so excited as we are getting our hands on our new (to us!) car today. My husband loves cars and since we’ve had the kids we’ve opted for quite comfy cars, big enough to carry all our stuff. I don’t know about you but we have a lot of stuff. Our house is full, the sheds are full and stuff overflows to the car. Luckily my husband had a secret floor of the boot where we kept all our car essentials. When we emptied the old car to sell it, out came the kites, the picnic…

    Top Bank Holiday Netflix faves for kids

    I just love how my children watch their favourite programmes. I remember me and my sister took it in turns to choose the tv programmes we’d watch after school. We argued so much that we were assigned days of the week! I’m not sure it stopped us arguing but it makes me giggle even now. My kids however, have the luxury of their favourite shows at their fingertips and I have to be honest, I still find this a bit strange!  When they were little they watched CBeebies but instead of switching over to CBBC as they got older they…

    Monday Happy Things {Week 151}

    Our Summer holidays are whizzing by. I can’t believe we’ve had four weeks of adventures already. We were really lucky to go away for a few days and have a change of scene. It was lovely to do normal things, like watch films at home and take the kids to the park. We wanted to help my daughter ride her bike without her stabilisers but let’s just say, she was a little reluctant! Monday Happy Things {Week 151} Whist we were away we visited The Courts Garden, Holt and the Fairy and Dragon Grotto at Whitehall Garden Centre. We’d never…

    Unboxing our new mattress from Sloane & Sons

    As we haven’t had a holiday this summer we’ve concentrated on getting the house sorted. It’s now 4 years since we moved in and we’ve almost finished! With my son starting Year 3 in September we really wanted to finish his room off and make it a nice place to be (and do homework!). Last year we bought him a mid-sleeper bed. This helped sort out the storage problem as the bed is raised with cupboards, a desk and shelves underneath. Earlier this year we laid a new floor as his room had carpet and I find carpets so unhygienic.…

    Rachel Whiteread Place (Village) at the Museum of Childhood

    I have this thing with houses. I’m not sure what it is but I just love little houses. So when I heard about an installation by the artist Rachel Whiteread consisting of lots of dolls’ houses, I knew I had to visit. The installation was at the Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green. Fortunately I had booked myself on a workshop at Tatty Devine in Brick Lane so was able to go a little early to visit it. I adore the Museum of Childhood. It is one of my favourite museums, mainly due to its collection of dolls’ houses. They used…
