This year I’ve tried to not buy any new Easter decorations. I’m really trying to cut down our use of single-use plastics and using up what we have before we buy anything. In our Easter box we had a *lot* of plastic re-fillable eggs. They are perfect for an Easter egg hunt at home. Recently I was sent a bundle of Duck Tape washi tape. It’s been a while since I crafted with washi tape. Have you heard of it? It’s a Japanese tape which is easy to tear and easy to re-position and great for crafting with. I thought…

We’ll be taking down all our birthday cards this week and we’ve been busy making some of our own Easter decorations to hang up. Yesterday the weather was beautiful and sunny (not so today unfortunately) and we had some messy, paint-y, after school fun with our paper plate Easter basket and sponge print egg activity. Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. I love starting off each week by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week. Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things We had a really busy weekend. There was so much going on which was fun, but a little hectic. I love Spring – the clocks have gone forward and there’s more daylight. The kids can’t wait to play outside after school, especially since we let them clean the trampoline. We’ve been planning some…

I am just about recovering from my son’s 8th birthday party today. He invited a bunch of his friends round to play console games. I planned everything so playing games online would be balanced by fun in the garden too. They are a confident bunch of boys and it was interesting watching them play together. They love their console games and my husband even rushed out yesterday to buy another DUAL SHOCK 4 controller, and went round to borrow another one from a friend! There’s nothing worse that having friends around but not enough controllers for everyone to play! Anyway,…

I am so happy to be seeing the signs of Spring around me. Yesterday I hung the washing out for the first time this year and the children played happily in the garden. I gave them a bucket of water and sponges so they could clean their trampoline. I have a favourite road to drive down and the trees are full of blossom. I feel so happy knowing that Spring is here. I’ve been encouraging the children to notice these signs too. I want them to be aware of the changing seasons and appreciate them. We’ve been collecting the falling…
