I mentioned the other day that my 6 year old just loves dinosaurs. She always has loved dinosaurs, and now has quite a collection of books and toys to play with. She loves reading about dinosaurs and is really good at identifying them. We are also pretty excited about the latest Jurassic World film which is released next month and we have been re-watching all the old films in preparation. We were sent some of the latest dinosaurs from the Schleich Dinosaur range. We’ve been fortunate to review some of the range before, including Schleich’s The First Dinosaurs range and…

This year is going incredibly fast for our little family. Life is so busy but my 8-year-old is getting excited for Father’s Day next month. He is a real daddy’s boy and just loves making gifts for people. I can’t tell you just yet what he’s making (as my husband reads my blog) but he asked me to help him with a gift box to hold his gift. I think that the packaging should be just an interesting as the gift inside. I found a lovely range of packaging boxes and gift accessories from SelfPackaging. I can’t resist their colourful washi…

Are you celebrating the Royal Wedding on Saturday? If so, how? I really wish it was taking place during the week so we could all have an extra day off! However both children are doing something special at school. My Year 3 boy was having a Royal tea party at school today, and my Year 1 daughter has been buys making a crown which they were all wearing to lunch. Both of them had to wear something red, white or blue to wear too. We had a little tea party at home to watch the last Royal Wedding and I’m…

If you’ve ever purchased brand new wood flooring, you’ll know it’s a significant investment. Ordinarily you’ll order wood flooring in full packs. Which means, unless you’re lucky enough to have the perfect amount of wood to cover your entire floor, you’re likely to have some left over. This can be anything from one or two planks, to half of a full pack – which is a lot of money to waste. Whilst it’s recommended you keep some spare in case of damages, you could still be left with excess flooring you’re unsure what to do with. Luckily, we’ve got some…

Did you know that National Sandwich Week is celebrated between May 20th and May 26th? We were challenged to celebrate it with Num Noms, those cute little scented food-related collectibles. My daughter loves to collect them so it was pretty easy to ask her to help create a lunch around her favourites. Celebrating National Sandwich Week with Num Noms We were sent a bundle of Num Noms products to help us create our Num Noms inspired bento lunch. My children love a themed lunch and the weather was lovely and sunny over the weekend which meant it was perfect for packing…

I love a Bank Holiday weekend and it’s not long until the next one. The weather was amazing for the first May Bank Holiday weekend so I wonder what the chances are of it being so lovely and sunny again? Fingers crossed the weather should be good and it always feels like we can properly relax when it’s a 3 day weekend. If you’re looking for something to keep the kids occupied then why not pop down to your local Smyths Toys Superstores on Saturday May 26th. Between 9am-2pm your local store will be hosting a party and everyone’s invited! Children…

I’ve been pretty emotional lately, realising that my children are growing up so quickly right in front of my eyes. Last week they were going through their toy boxes and decided to give away so many of their toys they loved when they were younger. I’m not ready for them to be growing up so quickly and really wish I could slow down time. It’s funny that those baby magazines I used to obsessively read before I started my maternity leave were full of pregnancy and baby advice. They never seemed to mentioned that babies would grow into toddlers, be…

Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. I love starting off each week by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing. Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things The weather was amazing in the first part of the week. We made a new routine of coming home after school pick up, eating ice creams in the garden and chatting about the kids…
