Exploring the history of Harrow School If you’ve ever wondered if it’s possible to visit Harrow School then let me tell you that you can! We booked tickets for the historic tour of Harrow School which takes place…

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me smile in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. Five Happy Things {Week 23/2025} Last week my daughter had a trial at a local athletics club and had a great time. They’ve already said they would be happy to have her join them. I can’t believe this will be another commitment to an already busy week but I’m happy she will be outside and…

A few weeks ago my daughter and I took part in a fun workshop at our local ceramic cafe making mini jelly cat inspired clay models. We had such a great time we decided to go again, this time booking a wax melts workshop. We’ve made our own wax melts at home using a craft kit but were excited to make more. Wax melts workshop @ Wick and Ceramic First of all we painted our own wax burners. There were so many colours to choose from, along with a handy guide to what the colours would look like once glazed…

I love exploring London with my teens and wanted to share a recent adventure we had at Lift109 at Battersea Power Station. Battersea Power Station is a true London icon and has been converted to a new use, like Tate Modern. Today Battersea Power Station is a shopping destination with some great shops, places to eat and entertainment venue. We’ve visited to look round the building, as well as explore some of the public art trails which have taken place there. Lift109 at Battersea Power Station With two teens to keep busy we thought we would book a visit to…

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me smile in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. Five Happy Things {Week 22/2025} I love half term, especially when I have the week off to spend it with my family. My son started the week with his Silver Duke of Edinburgh expedition in the Chilterns so I took my daughter to watch the new Lilo and Stitch film which we both enjoyed. Before…

Where did May go? Time for a monthly update! What I made in May 2025 I’m working my way through my craft stash and thought it was about time I made the MakeBox Modern English Paper Piecing Ladybird which was released in June 2023. I enjoy English Paper Piecing but usually stick with hexagons, diamonds or simple shapes. This kit has really been testing my patience! I wanted to use the finished ladybird on a banner and it just about fits. So far I have made half of the ladybird and have set it aside for now. Some of the…
