My son starts Reception in a couple of weeks. We’ve been keeping busy to prevent the dreaded Summer holiday brain-loss and have been working our way through basic phonics and puzzles. We started a holiday journal too where we add a photograph for eachday and he writes a little about what we’ve done.
I’m feeling super organised as we’ve bought most of his uniform. This year he needs a PE kit so I thought I would make a shoe bag for him to keep his plimsolls in.
I wanted it to be as easy as possible so today I’m sharing with you my no-sew shoe bag.
Materials you will need:
Bostik Glu & Fix fabric glue
ready-made natural cotton small carrier
fabric
scissors
paper template
How to make a no-sew shoe bag:
I used a cute ready-made natural cotton bag. It has small handles so is perfect for hanging on his school peg. He loves the London Underground so I wanted to personalise it with our version of the tube roundel. I made a paper template of the roundel with his name instead of a station and used that to cut my fabric.
When I was ready with my fabric, cotton bag and glue I started sticking each letter to the blue background. I used Bostik Glu & Fix fabric glue which was lovely and easy to use. It has a handy nozzle which helps you spread the glue where it’s needed.
The glue dries in minutes and withstands machine washing and ironing so is perfect for this kind of project. I love the finished result and fortunately so does my son. I can’t wait to see the bag in use soon, it should definitely stand out from the crowd.
Disclosure – I was sent the craft supplies as I’m a member of the Bostik Family Craft Bloggers Network

Great idea for a PE bag. The open top means it will be easy to get into as well.
I was going to make it into a draw string bag but I thought that would be too complicated!
That is fantastic! What a great idea x
That looks great, I have no imagination when it comes to this sort of thing #TriedTested
What a fab idea! I’ve not used fabric glue before but I am tempted now!
