New job wish list

Posted on October 16, 2023November 23, 2024 by jenny

I’m so excited to announce I have a new, permanent job at the university I work at. I’ve been working there for a couple of years but only on temporary contracts. I have really wanted something more permanent, so found a job, and got it! I do not enjoy the interview process but they actually sent the interview questions in advance, so the interview felt like more of a conversation than a test.

A new job is the perfect opportunity to freshen your image and I will be treating myself to a few new things to give me a little extra confidence on my first day in the new job.

New job wish list

There are a few things that I love to buy to feel good, mainly a new perfume, handbag and clothes or accessories.

Updating my make up bag

I rarely wear make up and when I was preparing for my interview I had a good look through my dusty make up bag. All my trusted products were a little, shall we say old? I really like SENSAI from parfumdreams as they use high-quality, natural ingredients. Definitely time to update my collection.

A new fragrance

Choosing a new fragrance can be a fun and personal experience.  If you’re looking for the perfect scent then you might want to learn the Fragrance Families which can help you make more informed choices. Consider the notes as each fragrance has top, middle, and base notes. Top notes are what you smell immediately upon application, middle notes come out after a short while, and base notes are the lingering scents. Make sure you like all three stages of a fragrance.

Keep in mind that a scent can smell different on you than on someone else due to your unique skin chemistry. Always test a fragrance on your own skin.

Some scents work better in certain seasons. Light, citrusy scents are often preferred in warm weather, like Creed spring flower by parfumdreams. Heavier, spicy scents can be more suitable for colder months. Make sure you consider the season.

A new handbag

If you’re looking for a new bag then you have to determine your budget (boring, I know!). Start by establishing a budget for your new handbag. Handbags come in a wide range of price points, so knowing how much you’re willing to spend will help narrow down your options.

Then identify your needs. Consider the purpose of the handbag. Are you looking for an everyday bag, a work tote, or laptop bag? Your needs will dictate the size, style, and features of the handbag you should be looking for.

Next choose a style. Handbags come in various styles, such as totes, crossbody bags, satchels, clutches, backpacks, and more. Think about your personal style and what complements your wardrobe. I have a favourite designer so I may be browsing on their site soon.

Finally select the material. Handbags can be made from a variety of materials, including leather, faux leather, oilcloth, canvas, suede, and more. Consider the material’s durability, care requirements, and how it fits your style. Which leads me nicely on to …

New outfit for Autumn/Winter

Creating a new outfit for Autumn/Winter involves combining warm and stylish clothing items to keep you comfortable and fashionable in colder weather. Need some help putting together a great outfit for the season?

Start with a cozy long-sleeved thermal or knit base layer top in a neutral colour like black, grey, or cream.

Consider wearing dark jeans or trousers. Corduroy trousers are also a popular choice for the fall and winter seasons.

Opt for a really good pair of boots, such as ankle boots or knee-high boots. They should be both warm and waterproof for those early morning dog walks – yep,. speaking from experience here!

Layering is key for staying warm. Choose a stylish and warm coat or jacket. Options include a classic trench coat, a puffer jacket, or a wool coat in a complementary colour to your outfit.

Sadly my pay rise isn’t huge but I’ll be looking to invest in a few key pieces to update my wardrobe and get me through the next few months.

Wish me luck with my new job – I can’t wait to tell you how it goes xx
