As our moving date is edging closer I’ve been ‘pinning’ some products I would love in our new home. Fingers crossed we will have more wall space (more rooms must equal more walls right?) so we can display lots more photos.
Ages ago I wrote about the vintage reclaimed picture frames we found under the stairs. They’ll be coming with us and hopefully I’ll find the time to update the pictures in them. I’ve also been making some doll quilts which I’d love to hang on the walls of Little Sis’ new room.
Despite taking photographs of the children every day we only have a couple on display. Looking for something a little different I came across Ashley Nye who has recently started selling bespoke illustrated baby, child and family portraits at Nye Portraits. She works from a photograph and I couldn’t resist trying it out for myself.
I sent her one of my favourite photographs of Big Brother and Little Sis sitting on the sofa. Within a couple of days I had been sent a proof of the image which she had transformed. My little people were clearly recognisable and the detail was amazing. I think you can clearly see the toddler is wearing his favourite Peppa Pig tshirt whilst Little Sis is wearing the tshirt I made.
I was happy with an A5 portrait but you can buy different sizes of your image, and also have it in different formats including canvas prints and mugs, which would make lovely gifts for birthdays or special occasions. I can’t wait to hang this in our new home.
I was offered an illustrated portrait from  nyeportraits.co.uk in return for writing this blog post.

March 18, 2013 at 10:18 amI know this pain: I have had so many pics to hang and all the walls were “occupied” with windows; closets, doors, glass…it was terrible! But now I am renting sth different and I am happy with the amount of walls 😛
