Top Bank Holiday Netflix faves for kids

Top Bank Holiday Netflix faves for kids

Posted on August 22, 2017 by jenny

I just love how my children watch their favourite programmes. I remember me and my sister took it in turns to choose the tv programmes we’d watch after school. We argued so much that we were assigned days of the week! I’m not sure it stopped us arguing but it makes me giggle even now.

My kids however, have the luxury of their favourite shows at their fingertips and I have to be honest, I still find this a bit strange!  When they were little they watched CBeebies but instead of switching over to CBBC as they got older they just love YouTube and Netflix. I guess they are lucky they can stream their favourite show wherever they are but I do worry they are missing a valuable lesson in patience sometimes.

With the Bank Holiday weekend coming up, and a few long car journeys to endure, I thought I would share our top Bank Holiday Netflix faves for kids.

I asked my 7 year old what he was enjoying on Netflix. He loves Star Wars and Lego so it’s not surprising that he’s bee watching episodes of Animal Mechanicals, LEGO City, LEGO Jurassic World and Angry Birds.

The 5 year old has pretty similar tastes to her brother (not that she would ever admit it). When I quizzed her on her Netflix faves she said she loves The Adventures of Chuck & Friends, Animal Mechanicals, Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood as well as Blaze and the Monster Machines. She’s pretty good at trying new programmes and loves watching Netflix on my laptop, the way it’s laid out is perfect for her and the recommendations are really helpful.

When they’re not arguing over what to watch I know I can rely on Paw Patrol (Seasons 1-2) and Dreamworks Dragons: Race to The Edge (Seasons 1-4) to entertain them. We recently reviewed some of the new Playmobil How To Train Your Dragon’ range so they’ve been watching anything related they can get. Season 5 Dreamworks Dragons: Race to the Edge is launched on the 25th August, just in time for our trip away.

I hope I’ve shared some new ideas with you. I love finding out what other people watch as it’s a great way to discover new things. If your kids watch anything you think we may like then please let me know in the comments below.

This is an extremely helpful post for me! I’ll get my husband to get a Netflix membership soon so we can avail it this weekend.

I love a netlix and chill day with my daughter, when it rains outside you can bet we have hot choc and netflix on the go. The other day we watched every ice age, actually quite enjoyed it 😊

Great tips, we have some long journeys coming up so we’ll definitely make sure we check out their favourites on the way.
