What’s on your reading list this summer? Idealo UK have teamed up with Foodies100 to challenge us to share our holiday reads. Once upon a time I read all the time but with two children and no time I have to admit I prefer flicking through cookery books and pattern books to reading a novel. You’ll notice that no. 5 on my Day Zero list is to ‘Read at least one book every month for 12 months’ which I’m still yet to achieve – I might have to change that to issues of Mollie Makes instead!
My Amazon Wishlist is scarily long with the books I would read if I had time. For the purposes of this project I picked my top four I would like to read this summer, it looks random but actually required a lot of thought.
Heart Felt Holidays
I love working with felt and would like to make an early start of some homemade Christmas presents. This book is by the people behind Fa la la felt which is one of my favourite craft books. The patterns are easy to follow and the kind of things I love to make so my fingers are crossed this book will get lots of use.
The LEGO Ideas Book
It’s no secret our family are huge Lego fans, heck my parenting blog is even called Treading On Lego! Whilst this looks to be a bit advanced for my son I know that my husband and I will love it. Who doesn’t need some inspiration when faced with a bucketful of bricks!
Vintage Teatime by the Women’s Institute
I chose this as I really want to bake more from scratch. I’m a modern mother and rely rather too heavily on packet mixes to save time. There are some recipes which I can’t wait to try, including Eccles cake and Queen cakes. I also have a secret hankering to join the WI so I want to make sure I’m up to their standard before I pluck up the courage to join a local group.

Who can resist some chick-lit, especially if it brings back happy memories of spending my pocket money on penny sweets in paper bags?! Anyway, I reasoned this had to be a better read than 50 Shades of Grey!
