My Mother’s Day wish list

Posted on February 21, 2016March 1, 2020 by jenny

Do you celebrate Mother’s Day? When I was young I remember making my mum breakfast in bed, my big sister carrying it up to her on a tray. Since then, the day has meant giving cards, a box of chocolates and taking her out for lunch. Now I’m a mum and on the receiving end!

My favourite thing about Mother’s Day is receiving cards from my children and I keep every one I have ever received – I even write the date on the back so I can remember which year I got them. My children are still little so there is nothing better for me than seeing what they have written or a picture they have drawn.

I would love to do something with the pictures and drawings they make. So I thought I would share my Mothers Day wish list with you, mainly in the hope that my husband will read this and buy me a little something from my list 🙂

My Mother’s Day wish list

Top of my Mother’s Day wish list would be my children’s drawing reproduced on a mug or cushion. Photobox make good quality items and I wouldn’t mind a new mug to add to my collection as I seem to drink a lot of cups of tea.

I’ve been admiring this season’s must-have Herbaceous print in my local Cath Kidston store and would really like a shawl to see me through to Spring.

I have a sweet tooth and would love a box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates. It’s become a bit of a joke that my husband buys me a box of Ferrero Rocher for every little holiday and I always buy him a Toblerone. Chocolate and Mother’s Day go together for me and I would save them for when the children are in bed!

I try to take some time out for myself every day and have totally embraced the adult colouring trend. I can’t seem to stop buying lovely pens too and even have my own pencil box to keep them out of reach of my children. The latest adult colouring book to be added to my wish list is The Time Garden which looks beautiful.

I’m trying to keep my Mother’s Day wish list short but I have to include a rhubarb scented candle from Orla Kiely. I love lighting a candle when the children are in bed. I adore the packaging and design of the candle but know it will smell divine too and keep the house smelling fresh for weeks. My last one fell off the mantlepiece and smashed so I would be really happy to receive this.

I think a lot of my readers are parents, so I’d love to hear how you celebrate Mother’s Day. Are you happy with a handmade card or do you have a little wish list like me?

What a great selection! I’m taking my mum out for afternoon tea on Sunday, I know she’ll love it!

Loving this selection. What a great idea. Still not sure what I am getting my mum, so broke.
