My children have had scooters since they could toddle. Although they both have bikes they prefer to scoot everywhere. Just like a bike grows with your child, so does a scooter, and they have both had a few different models over the last few years.
They both started with the Mini Micro 3-in-1 Scooter with a seat and Scoot ‘n’ Pull so we could give them a little helping hand. The seat and straps soon went and they enjoyed the Mini Micro Scooter for years, scooting to and from nursery, and then school. These scooters were brilliant and we were able to pass them on to friends when the kids grew out of them. We also loved the fact they were easy to accessorise with scooter sleeves and baskets.
Mongoose Stance Scooter review
Christmas came early for my son as Halfords kindly sent Big Brother a scooter – the Mongoose Stance Scooter – to review. He has been longing for a stunt scooter for a while and was really excited when he saw the box. He received the Monster Orange version which is perfect for him (designed for ages 8 and over).
The Mongoose Stance Scooter has some great features including: Mongoose Push-On with plastic end-caps, Steel Y bar, Alloy anodised 3 bolt clamp, Mangasnese steel, Alloy anodised deck with cartoon monster graphics and plastic core wheels with PY tyre.
It came in a pretty huge box and the actual scooter was in two parts. An allen key is included so you can put it together. I tried to build it but failed miserably so we waited until my husband came home to tighten it all up.
We went out with it after school and my son had so much fun. My son loves the orange colour and the monster graphics. He also can’t wait to try out some tricks he’s seen on Halfords Kid Zone! It’s completely different to his old 3-wheeled scooter so he’s going to enjoy practising before he takes in to the skate park. It’s a great way to keep kids active in the colder months and get the whole family outdoors more.
