Family Life mindfulness Monday Happy List

Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things

Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. Each week I start off by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.

Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things

Last week was especially busy as we celebrated my daughter’s 7th birthday. She was incredibly excited and I planned a Hatchimals theme as that’s her favourite toy at the moment. We had Hatchimals gifts, tableware, a Hatchimals pinata and even a Hatchimals cake. It was a crazy day but she loved every minute and has lots of new toys to play with.

We’ve been sent some wonderful toys to review which have kept us really busy. We’ve reviewed the Playmobil Children’s Playground and the L.O.L. Surprise Pop Up Store playset. Both are lovely toys so do pop over for a read if you are thinking of either of these as a Christmas gift.

A few weeks ago we took part in a Christmas White Box photo shoot. Our photographer basically built a white box and took lots of photos of the children in various poses. Then he stitched together the photos to make a festive collage. Over the weekend we received the finished collage which looks great. I can’t share it just yet as we’re using it for our Christmas card and gifts but it’s so good.

It’s been a busy week with birthdays but the kids were really excited about the start of Advent. They both had specific requirements for their Advent calendars. My daughter wanted to Hatchimals Advent calendar and my son wanted the Lego City one. I found a Green & Blacks one for my husband and treated myself to the M&S Beauty and the Tom Chaplin calendars. They are having so much fun opening them that they are well worth the money.

We spent the weekend in the country with my mum, helping her celebrate her birthday. The weekend coincided with their Christmas festival and we were able to attend the Christmas market, look at the decorated Christmas trees at church and watch the Mayor switching on the lights. The kids had a lovely time and we were able to relax (a little!).

How lovely! I am concentrating on decorating a few rooms in my house at the moment so that hopefully we get to really enjoy Christmas and my daughters 8th birthday a few days afterwards. So far advent calendars are the only festive thing we have going on!

Happy belated Birthday to your daughter. Sounds like a fantastic birthday party, lucky girl. We also saw our town’s Christmas lights switched on by our mayor at a lovely Christmas festival which ended with fireworks above the town’s castle. Lovely that you find and document happy things from your week.
