Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things

visiting Woodhenge

Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend and enjoyed the beautiful weather we’ve been experiencing in London over half term. Each week I start off by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.

Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things

We started the week in Wiltshire with a brief visit to my mum. The weather was so good to us and we stopped off at Woodhenge on the way back to London which was a lovely space for the kids to run around.

I made sure to not plan too much over half term as I was well aware that we all needed a break. It was lovely to be at home! We visited the library, got hair cuts and went charity shopping – not very exciting but relaxing! The children got to play with their toys, we bought loads of books at the charity shops, donated bags of old toys and enjoyed spending time together. Being back at work makes me appreciate time at home and being with my children more than I thought it would.

With Halloween looming we spent quite a lot of time crafting. We decorated painted rocks (and hid them!), we made more paper plate ghosts, we picked up leaves, we climbed trees, and made a lot of slime.

Yayoi Kusama London

We were lucky to get tickets for Yayoi Kusama: THE MOVING MOMENT WHEN I WENT TO THE UNIVERSE at Victoria Hiro gallery. I was so excited about going to see this. Whilst we were in London we also went to see the Harry Potter wand installation down by St Paul’s Cathedral.

We finished off our week by visiting our local Hobbycraft to make some Halloween squishies. We love making squishies and these were fun! I love our local store as everyone is so nice there. We stocked up on supplies so we could make more at home.

Back to work for me today! Have a great week everyone!

Sounds like you’ve had a great start to half term. Hobbycraft is a cool place isn’t it? Sounds like your kids will be crafting a lot this week

I love the sound of making Halloween squishes, my children would love that.
