Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend and enjoyed the beautiful weather we’ve been experiencing in London. Each week I start off by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.
Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things
Last week we had both children’s Parents Evening meetings. They both got excellent reports and it was lovely to hear they both enjoy school and have a positive attitude to learning.
We started Half Term with a weekend away which was lovely. I packed some crafting to do in the evenings and had time to stitch the Autumn Craftpod embroidery hoop. This was a really pretty one featuring Hawksbeard seedheads, an oak leaf, Red Campion seeds, toadstools and sycamore seeds. I can’t wait to hang it up with the previous ones.
My son has been studying the Romans in Year 4 so asked to visit the Roman Baths in Bath over the weekend. I hadn’t been in years so was excited to go. We got there nice and early so managed to visit the Great Bath and enjoy the peace and tranquility of it. The children did the Children’s Trail and we had audio guides so managed to all learn something. We even got to taste some of the warm mineral water – but I wouldn’t recommend it!
This weekend the kids helped make the Christmas puddings so the house has smelt amazing. They both love helping in the kitchen and we can’t wait to enjoy these puddings in a few weeks time.
The weather has been amazing for this time of year – warm and sunny so we’ve been out without the usual layers of clothing. We’ve made use of being close to Westbury White Horse and got to enjoy an amazing sunset the other evening. The kids played with their RC car and were so happy to run around. I really hope the good weather lasts all half term.
Have a great week.
