Family Life London Monday Happy List

Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things

5 happy things

Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. I love starting off each week by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.

Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things

I’m British so have to comment on the recent amazing weather. I don’t really like hot hot weather but after a miserable Easter holiday it was just what we needed. The children were very happy to be able to wear shorts to school and they played outside in the garden every day. We even went to our local beach yesterday and the children played in the sand.

Frenchic Press Day

On the hottest day of the year so far I headed into the West End for the Frenchic press day. I learned all about their paint range and painted my own wooden bird house. Whilst I was in town I headed to the Victorian Giants exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery. I used my National Art Pass to get 50% off so it only cost me £5. It was a wonderful exhibition, all about the relationship between Victorian artists: Julia Margaret Cameron (1815–79), Lewis Carroll (1832–98), Lady Clementina Hawarden (1822–65) and Oscar Rejlander (1813–75).

Have you heard that the Great British Sewing Bee is finally coming back? I couldn’t be happier about that as I love the programme! It’s a huge shame Claudia Winkleman isn’t presenting though. I’m really hoping it will get me sewing again.

paper cutting at Chanel

On Saturday I was so excited to go on a paper cutting workshop at the Chanel School of Makeup at Harrods. It was run by Poppy Chancellor and I really love her fun designs. Two hours to myself was just bliss and I finished 3 paper cuts.

Yesterday we went for a walk to see the bluebells in Ruislip Woods. It’s the quickest way to reach Ruislip Lido in good weather as the car parks fill up really quickly. The wood was full of bluebells and it didn’t take long to walk through the woods to the beach. The children played on the beach along with half of London, it was really busy. I can’t wait to go back to the woods to watch the bluebells growing over the next few weeks.

Have a great week everyone!

I love seeing woods full of bluebells, it’s one of my favourite things about Spring! I’ve been loving this gorgeous weather we’ve beeing having recently as well!

I love posts like this that really focus on the positive. I’m going through a rough time right now, so I should do something similar to help remind me about the awesome things in life. 🙂
