Monday Happy List the Netherlands

Monday Happy Things {Week 410}

The Hague

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to sit down and write.

Monday Happy Things {Week 410}

We had a great week away in the Netherlands. It’s a really family-friendly place and it’s the third time we’ve been now. We went swimming, visited Amsterdam, The Hague and Leiden and ate our weight in pancakes. The week went really quickly and we stopped off in Bruges on the way home. We had the most amazing weather and had lots of fun.

We made sure to visit the Lego Store in Amsterdam as both the kids love Lego. We are so used to visiting the London Lego Store that it was quote strange to visit one in another country. It was full of fun Lego builds, from typical Dutch houses, to famous Dutch paintings made from Lego. The kids both bought some Lego to build and bring home!

I took a few small stitching projects with me and finished a small cross stitch gingerbread house and a sweet happy face hoop embroidery kit, both from Cotton Clara. I enjoyed having something to do in the evenings after a long day of sightseeing.

I finished reading The Hidden Palace by Dinah Jefferies which was quite good. I’ve tried reading a few other books but haven’t found anything gripping yet.

    I really want to go back to The Netherlands and take my fiance to Amsterdam as he’s never been. I want to go to the Tonys Chocoloney factory to make my own chocolate bar x
