Monday Happy List

Monday Happy Things {Week 397}

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to sit down and write.

Both the children were away camping so our Friday night was very quiet. We decided to watch Top Gun as we’re hoping to go and watch Top Gun: Maverick soon. Did you know it came out in 1986? I couldn’t believe how dated Top Gun was. Everyone seemed to sweat the whole way through the film! I can’t wait to watch the new film, hopefully it will be less cringe! My daughter was only away for one night so we were able to take her climbing on Sunday.

I really enjoyed reading Miss Buncle’s Book by D.E. Stevenson so I was delighted to finish it and discover there were more books in the series. Sadly Miss Buncle Marries is currently being re-printed by Persephone Books so I am on the look out for second hand copy.

We spent a lot of time on the garden, digging up all our spring bulbs so we could dry them out ready for re-planting in autumn. Our garden is quite small so we needed the spaces they were in to grow summer flowers. We built another wooden planting table so we could have more plants at eye-level and away from the dog who eats everything!

I couldn’t resist this limited edition Golden Syrup tin, produced to mark the Platinum Jubilee this year. I bought something similar in 2012 which I can’t find any more so I was happy to see these in Sainsbury’s.

My sewing machine came out this weekend as I wanted to make some more bandanas for our little pup and started some more as gifts. They are so quick to whip up and you can choose your favourite prints and patterns. We’re lucky that our dog is happy to wear them all day, I’m planning on making him one for every occasion!

    Would you believe, I have never actually watched Top Gun! I think I must be the only person ever to have not seen it, my hubby really wants to go and see the new one too and he’s so upset with me because I won’t know what’s happening! It sounds like you had a great weekend.

    I have done quite a bit of gardening last week as well. It was like the nice weather asked for it. I am so happy with the result, my garden looks so pretty cleaned up from dried plants, with the grass cut and new colourful flowers in my hanging baskets.
