Monday Happy List

Monday Happy Things {Week 393}

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.

Monday Happy Things {Week 393}

We started our week with a return visit to Church Gardens in Harefield. We visited last summer and were really looking forward to seeing how the gardens had changed. We spent a good hour looking at the gardens before enjoying tea and cake in the sunshine.

Last week we squeezed in two trips to the cinema. We took the kits to watch The Bad Guys as they loved the books. We also watched The Batman which was quite good (if a bit long).

Platinum Jubilee badge for Scouting

Both the children went back to school after the Easter break. My daughter had a special Forest School day at school which she really enjoyed. They both took part in the St George’s Day parade with Cubs and Scouts and looked super smart in their uniform, especially with their new Platinum Jubilee badges sewn on.

We did loads of work in the garden and it’s looking really lovely with so many spring bulbs in flower. My husband built us a long planter which goes down one side of the garden and he painted it before I put the plants in. I also replaced my little greenhouse with something more substantial, which I also painted. They definitely add some interest to our little patch.

I finished The Ship Asunder which was pretty good and also spent the weekend finishing the pretty floral pennant kit from Love Embroidery magazine. It was the perfect little project as I couldn’t really get into any of my other projects. Last week was busy but I’m hoping to get back into a routine now the kids are both back at school.

Have a great week!

    Your day out exploring the gardens while eating cake and drinking tea in the sunshine sounds so lovely – and your embroidery project looks fab too!
