Monday Happy List

Monday Happy Things {Week 365}

Dowding park, uxbridge

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List  is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.

Monday Happy Things {Week 365}

I got a new job and my contract came through so I was able to hand my notice in at work. I’m sure the next four weeks will go really quickly and I’m really excited to try something new. I bought myself a smart new Orla Kiely handbag to celebrate!

We spent a good few hours tidying the garden for winter. I have a container garden thanks to my little pup who eats anything he can reach. My husband built a huge planting table for the garden and it’s full of containers. I cleared out the last of the tomato plants and sunflower and my daughter planted a huge selection of Spring bulbs. I mowed the lawn too so the garden is looking ready for the cold weather.

My daughter won a STEM competition at school. She loves science and she really enjoyed coming up with an idea and building it. She won a lovely certificate as well as colouring pens and a drawing book which she was really excited about.

I finished reading The Prince of the Skies by Antonio Iturbe, a captivating historical novel based on a true story – the extraordinary life and mysterious death of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, author of The Little Prince.

All Antoine de Saint Exupéry wants to do is be a pilot. But flying is a dangerous dream and one that sets him at odds with his aristocratic background and the woman he loves. Despite attempts to keep him grounded, Antoine is determined to venture forwards into the unknown. Together with his friends, Jean and Henri, he will pioneer new mail routes across the globe and help change the future of aviation. In the midst of his adventures, Antoine also begins to weave a children’s story that is destined to touch the lives of millions of readers around the world. A story called The Little Prince . . . Fame and fortune may have finally found Antoine, but as the shadow of war begins to threaten Europe, he’s left to wonder whether his greatest adventure is yet to come . . .

Over the weekend we also finished watching Squid Games on Netflix. Everyone has been talking about it in the school I work in so I felt like I should watch it myself. I loved the idea of it but I didn’t really enjoy watching the episodes. It certainly was very thought-provoking to watch.
