homestyle Monday Happy List

Monday Happy Things {Week 146}

The sun is shining. It’s the last week of term and I got paid for the job I did last month – just in time to get the fan belt replaced in my car. I can tell it’s going to be a good week so let’s get straight on to my weekly mindfulness post, about the 5 things which made me happy.

Last week saw lots of milestones for both of my children. It’s lovely watching all their hard work be rewarded and they both gained their Yellow belt at karate. They’ve been going to karate for just over a year and it’s really lovely to see them progressing and increasing in confidence.Β They both took part in Sports Day too last week which I think they enjoyed. My daughter is very sporty and I think they enjoyed some time out of the classroom.

My daughter went on a picnic for her last Rainbows meeting of the year. Her group leader is leaving so it felt a little sad knowing she will need to start over again with a new leader and new friends in September. She’s not hugely confident with people she doesn’t know but she loves Rainbows so I’m sure she’ll embrace the challenge.

My son took part in his Year 2 Leavers Assembly. They’ve been practicing this for the last half term and it was fun. My 7 year old had a few lines to say and sang along with all the songs. I think he’s relieved it’s over so they can get on with playing for the last few days of term!

On Friday I collected their end of term reports which are always a pleasure to read. They’ve both had a brilliant year and had some great teachers. They were rewarded with small gifts. Little Sis chose a beautiful baby dragon from The Fairy Maker and Big Brother received the Minecraft Master Builder Toolkit book, which he loves. I’m excited for the new challenges of September, after a lovely 6 week break of course.

Mollie Makes Paper Cut book

Last week wasn’t all about my children though! I’ve been working my way through the Mollie Makes Paper Cut book at every spare moment. It’s been great making time for my hobbies again, especially as I’m not sure how much time I’ll have for that during the school holidays.

Have a great week everyone!

    Well done to them both on getting their yellow belts and great school reports. I bet the Leaver’s Assembly for your son was emotional!
